Just Say Yes
The day had seemed to drag on forever, despite it not being that long at all, and thankfully, everything had gone smoothly thus far. Now all that was left to do was have a wedding, and the reception, of course. All of their planning and stressing had resulted in a beautifully elegant atmosphere, which only seemed to enhance the excitement that James was feeling. He had fortunately gotten to talk to all of the marauders before stepping out to the alter, and was a lot more calm than he had been that morning. As soon as he and Sirius had stepped out to the alter, the anxiety that he had been clutching onto seemed to melt away, rolling off of his shoulders like water after a rainstorm.Â
The guests were all eagerly waiting for the bride to walk down the aisle, as was the groom, of course, and soon the wedding party could be seen entering the room, which gathered everyone’s attention immediately. It was all becoming very real, though this time, James wasn’t nervous, as he finally knew there was no reason to be. He was getting married to one of his best friends, someone who knew him, past and all, and still wanted to marry him anyway. Lily might have made him nervous at one point in time, -and on the rare occasion, he did still get nervous around her- but now, now was not the time to freeze up.Â
Now was the time to reflect on the past, cherish the present, and hope for the future. He gave wide smiles to everyone as they made their way down the aisle and took their places along the sides of the alter, his heart fluttering a bit faster now. Then he looked up to see Zephyr, escorting Katie, per Lily’s request, and couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle. She looked beautiful, of course, and their arrival meant that the only person left to walk down was Lily. He shot Sirius a smile before his attention turned back to the entrance way, taking a deep breath.
