I love your take on the Luthor fam, honestly!

I gotta admit I take a lot of inspiration from the Smallville TV show for most of Luthor’s backstory. In my AU, Lionel’s dad was a drunk crook who beat the crap out of his wife and kid. Lillian came from a rich family and Lionel basically married her for the money.

Their marriage was a power play and they mostly hate each other but are also allies most of the time cause their ambitions met. Their constant abuse of the other's favored child is actually great cause it keeps them isolated (and also they are "training" the kids for the real worlr #goodparentimg) and they keep trying to pit Lex and Lena against each other.

None of that stop them from constantly fighting and doing power games over the pettiest stuff.

I do think SV!Lionel is inteligent enough to actually give Lilian power unlike hus Supergirl counterpart and somewhat interest her. They still clearly despite each other and treat each other badly and are constalty trying to control each other.

Lionel makes Lilian constantly dye her head red because "he has a strong preference for gingers" and Lilian forces Lionel to keep his hair short cause "long hair is unmainly". They are atracted to each other but their flirting is being their worst self.

They are activally bad for each other and one of them (in my heart is Lilian) will end up sucessfull at orchestrating the other's death at some point.
