That's neat ! I've actually started to write a paper on Kryptonian biology for my main AU written by Star Labs scientists but I haven't thought about taste yet. Here's what I wrote on the subject :

Optional Nutritional Pathways: Medical examinations have confirmed that Superman possesses a fully functional digestive system, even though he does not require food to survive when fully powered by Earth's yellow sun. Analysis suggests that Kryptonians may have evolved to supplement their solar energy intake with food, showing a natural preference for protein-rich and high-energy meals. Remarkably, his body produces almost no waste, recycling resources with extraordinary efficiency.

Scientists believe the digestive issues Kal-El experienced during early childhood were linked to his body adapting to Earth's environment. One theory suggests that his internal systems had not yet synchronized with the energy provided by the yellow sun. Another proposes that the extreme conditions of his journey from Krypton, including travel through an unstable wormhole and exposure to relativistic effects, temporarily disrupted his developing physiology, delaying the activation of certain biological functions.

I also thought it would be a cool idea for their eyes to produce high amounts of CAHS proteins (like waterbears) to protect their ocular systems from their own laser/heat vision, and that their pupils can differ in shape and size for a different vision field.
