So MAWS made a mosaic Superboy and settled on him being Jon. Unfortunately I saw this coming almost from day one, but that's irrelevant.
They presented him with Kon's very specific 1990s looks, there are some loose nods to N52, but solidified that no, this is specifically JON from the future to marry that they are inspired by Dragon Ball Z (it's Trunks' narrative man). Like...
I'm not mad they want to tell this story, it is an elseworld and they can do whatever they want obviously, but what gets me mad is they presented him with something so specific to Kon El and went SIKE it's JON, not Kon! They even have the framework to specifically introduce Kon.
I don't think they realize Kon fans don't appreciate this and I can't help but feel like Jon fans are also getting smeared because Jon doesn't need to be presented as someone else (this is something DC has yet to learn historically). They could have easily from the start given this Superboy a more ambiguous design instead of something so specific to Kon.
This again goes back to you don't need to sacrifice other characters, or their fans, to prop up another one.
I understand this is animation, not comics, period, this is an elseworld however the point still remains that they led people with ambiguity and it's led to some salt. Saying "well they never confirmed this was Kon so it's YOUR fault for assuming and getting upset" is unhelpful and, frankly, bullshit when that boy looks like Kon.
Hello! I loved your βobservations on kryptonianβ piece and was wondering if you could do more of them when youβre not busy? I have a few ideas for it, mainly about sunlight absorption and photonic crystals built into the skinβ basically what certain creatures and minerals have (ex. Butterfly wings) to absorb and reflect sunlight in certain ways. I headcanon that it would help them absorb sunlight as well as make their skin smooth and very slightly shiny, with the addition of glowing under black light.
I also thought it would be a cool idea for their eyes to produce high amounts of CAHS proteins (like waterbears) to protect their ocular systems from their own laser/heat vision, and that their pupils can differ in shape and size for a different vision field.
Just some ideas lol. Anyway, please consider making more when youβre free, and please notify me when and if you do!

I have to admit that this AU got a bit too far and I'm not particularly interested in expanding it further. It was just a fun thought that I had at the time and honestly it's not that deep... But I'd love to see or read about anyone's idea on the matter.

To add onto the previous thing I asked cuz Iβm a nerd lol, another idea (based on an idea from βMy Adventures With Supermanβ), was that Kryptonians donβt particularly enjoy spicy food, because it would be bland to them; considering spice is a pain response, and while their senses seem to be much stronger (ie: sight, smell, hearing, touch, taste), rhat seems to be limited with pain responses, and thatβs all spice really is.
That's neat ! I've actually started to write a paper on Kryptonian biology for my main AU written by Star Labs scientists but I haven't thought about taste yet. Here's what I wrote on the subject :
Optional Nutritional Pathways: Medical examinations have confirmed that Superman possesses a fully functional digestive system, even though he does not require food to survive when fully powered by Earth's yellow sun. Analysis suggests that Kryptonians may have evolved to supplement their solar energy intake with food, showing a natural preference for protein-rich and high-energy meals. Remarkably, his body produces almost no waste, recycling resources with extraordinary efficiency.
Scientists believe the digestive issues Kal-El experienced during early childhood were linked to his body adapting to Earth's environment. One theory suggests that his internal systems had not yet synchronized with the energy provided by the yellow sun. Another proposes that the extreme conditions of his journey from Krypton, including travel through an unstable wormhole and exposure to relativistic effects, temporarily disrupted his developing physiology, delaying the activation of certain biological functions.

I vividly dream that I'm Kon so often when I sleep that it's really starting to feel like I'm playing some kind of hyper advanced VR video game.
But damn... Waking up to reality is always so hard after that. Like : yeay lets go back to boring reality wooh!
Btw, tonight's episode was very cool
For those who asked, tonight's episode took place in Metropolis. Kon was flying around, blasting rock music, singing, hanging out with people, and helping them with their daily struggles. But then night fell, and he ended up alone: people went to sleep one by one, and the streets emptied. Kon realized that he had nowhere to go, no place to sleep. He flew up to rest on top of a building.
But suddenly, giant eagles soared through the sky. And when I say giant, they were enormous. They immediately started attacking Kon, who tried to defend himself and flee⦠and then I woke up because of my damn alarm clock.
Yeah, it feels way less epic when I write it like that. But when you're inside the story... damn it's so neat.
And again I dreamt of Kon last night... It's really becoming a habit.
Writing THAT scene when Lonnie got beaten up by Batman at 12 years old only to run away to his dad for help because yeah he's just a kid... is so hard emotionaly for me.
