Don't worry anon, I'm flattered that you feel comfortable enough to rant to me! And you're right on the "Ben-sided" thing, a lot of ppl aren't all that critical of the show and how it handles Ben in general.

I HATE how the show is skewed towards Ben's perspective and how Callum can't get a single minute to himself, it can easily be the biggest problem with their relationship. I totally understand that you're losing interest in Ballum rn, especially with all the crappy writing that seems to be surrounding them atm. Honestly, I felt kinda disinterested for a bit too bc I was frustrated with how they handled Callum's kidnapping or their fight; like they don't even feel all that real anymore in comparison to when they first started out. Then the ILY happened and it pulled me back in, but knowing EE I'll start to drift out again soon. Some of the main things I'm looking forward to now isn't Ballum but the introduction of Frankie and seeing Ian thrown in jail; that's what happens when writers make a couple seem unbalanced and emotionally unhealthy for a solid few weeks. If you honestly just feel tired with the show, I'd recommend maybe slowing your input of it and focus on shows you are interested in, and if something interesting happens that draws your attention again, dive right back in! But just stringing yourself along is going to be exhausting when you're annoyed at show and the writers.

If you're looking for Ballum content that isn't created by the show, I'd def recommend checking out fanfics/fanart/fanvids! Fanfics in particular are really great bc it can both be wish fulfillment (Ben actually giving a worthwhile apology for example) and crazy ideas you haven't thought of before! Don't worry anon, you're justified with being frustrated and even if there are loads of alternative fics, if you wanna leave this part of the fandom, do it! Do whatever makes you most comfortable anon, I'm rooting for ya 💞💗💖
