Sharing some drafts from my WIP modern au rise of the guardians fanfiction. It's just some drafts and also English is not my first language, sooo I'm really open to critics and suggestions (?)
I'm not sure if I should be posting the first chapter or not. Like, is there anybody still reading rotg ff???? Hope so :)
Anyway,
CW: grief
***
He had been there for only five minutes - fortyfive more left to the end of the meeting - and Jack was already at his limit.
The group leader was blathering the usual introduction, something that could be summed up in "sadness is not to be avoided, but expressed", and "you can learn to live with loss and pain," but Jack wasn’t really paying attention. It was always the same bullshit.
He was staring at his shoes, nodding to pretend to agree with whatever Aster Bunnymund was saying and fighting hard the urge to release the biggest yawn ever registered in the history of humanity. He didn’t even want to be there.
"...I know some of you have heard my story before, but today we have some brave new people here." Jack looked around, picking up a few, maybe a couple, new faces among the people he had already seen. A young guy, maybe around his age, was holding the paper flyer and staring at it with sad empty eyes: grief recovery support group: need help recovery from grief? You're not alone!
Jack was pretty much feeling alone, even in that room. He couldn't remember a single day in the last few years in which he didn't feel so deeply alone.
"You are free to speak and vent" Bunnymund continued, looking nervous, "as much as you're free to just listen to others. No one forces you to share your pain, even though I encourage you to do so, it is a choice you are allowed to take with all the time you need. I know that sometimes it helps just to know that you’re not the only one who suffers."
It was Jack’s third meeting, and he had never shared his "story" before, nor did he particularly intend to do so that evening. He didn’t really like listening to people. All the times, he came to those meetings with a sore chest, and left feeling even more shitty. How could knowing that he wasn't the only one suffering ever comfort him? It was a terrible thought. All the people sitting in a circle in that room... All of them suffered a loss?
Jack heard somewhere that children at a certain age begin to understand the concept of death. And, although it was difficult, he obviously understood the concept, thanks to his twenty-one years of experience in being alive... but he could just not get over it. He couldn't.
Neck crack. Literally what,,,
this website is like nonstop performance art.
so uhm, i guess i’m going on a date with some guy from grindr tomorrow? like... i don’t really want to, or see anything happening from it, but never turn down opportunities or something?idk wtf i’m thinking with this... I’d honestly rather go to the library???
