Idk why but when I started college I just developed a love for data and statistics. Maybe it's because I was never exposed to it in high school, since calculus was the main focus. And I don't know why it was. I've never used calculus outside of high school, but I deal with data and statistics constantly when doing research.
I get that calculus is needed for physics, but more people are going to work with data and statistics regularly than calculus. More people are going to need to understand the difference in the mean, median, and mode. How to determine a good sample population. How to properly read and create different types of graphs. How to know if an article is showing you good, relevant, unbiased statistics. I don't even know what calculus is used for outside of physics.
