She certainly hadn't been wrong, in spite of the sharp inhale that says otherwise. Air rushing in to soothe burning lungs that scream at him for being stupid enough to hold his breath when it hadn't really been needed.
Old habits die hard, after all.
"Uh, yeah, well. I was?" A pointless lie considering she heard him gulping down air just a moment ago. It is, in part, some attempt to save his pride or come off as a normal and well adjusted creature. He isn't sure which to pick from, and it does very little to help him in either case.
"It just happens. Sometimes. Just- just ignore it?" A hand comes to awkwardly rub at a his forearm, fabric rustling with the touch. "It's kind of weird, I know. It's whatever though."
It very much was not whatever. But hey, tell that to him and his rambling about nothing, really.
