I am the new librarian in a tiny fishing village, just arrived from the city. Charged with keeping local history, I ask residents their fish tales, research folklore, sort through nautical maps. While I have archival and preservation training, I have no background specifically in maritime history. The grumpy, 5th generation lighthouse keeper decides that I am going about everything all wrong. We fall in love in his historic lighthouse, surrounded by books and cascading documents.

After getting my heart broken i escape society to live in a lighthouse by the sea where the wind is strong and the waves hit hard. there amongst the fog and sea i find solace in the passing ships

I'm a selkie who is caught between a fear of humans and a fascination with the daughter of the lighthouse keeper whose shore I bask upon on misty evenings, contemplating if I should risk my pelt and my home for a chance at a soft, enchanted life tinted with adventure.

I'm an early 20th century lighthouse keeper and my lover is a sailor in the Navy and he's been sent away to war. We write longing letters to each other when we can and I keep them all in a scrapbook waiting for his return. One day, I'm out standing on the rocks in a storm and I see a ship approach and help guide them to shore and when I go to help them get off the ship to wait out the rest of the storm, the first person who comes and greets me is my lover and we kiss (and we're both men 😳😳)
