Non-destructive editing in GIMP 3.0 is incredible
I am absolutely loving that GIMP3.0 has non-destructive transforms filters. Obviously I'd get better results hand-texturing, but while I build those skills, it's a gamechanger to be be able to futz around with procedural filters and tweak an individual step's setting without having to redo the entire stack from scratch every time.
It ain't much, but it's a start
