lightedblaze / "Ne, ne, here, for you." Sarada hands Chocho a bag of potato chips. They are Ume flavored. "I heard you had a run in with Kawaki the other day."
@lightedblaze
“I think you mean he had a run in with me,” she says, taking the bag from Sarada. Her friend probably means the gift to be some sort of consolation for what happened, but Chocho knows the truth: this is her gold medal, a well won reward for her success against Mr. Tall, Broody, and Full of It.Â

           “The Sharingan is really something incredible.” Lee wipes the sweat from his brow before loosening his defensive stance.  “I am quite certain that you will be a master of it, Sarada.”
     As per request by Sakura, Lee had made time to train young Sarada in Taijutsu.  Being a daughter of Sakura Uchiha, he knew the young girl would be adept in manifesting rock-shattering punches. However, her form needed work.  Some stronger balance here, some tighter elbows there.  Nothing that couldn’t be fixed.  Lee lets out an airy laugh, as he’s reminded of his fight with Sasuke when they were children: How poor he’d thought Sasuke’s taijutsu had been.  But how quick he’d been to copy and master it with the Sharingan.
           “The Sharingan made me so angry when I was a child.”  He admits to Sarada with a soft smile.  “I used a technique on your father that took me months to master.  With the Sharingan, it took him only one look and he had already mastered it.”
lightedblaze | "Mama, does papa really love us? I know you said he does, and I want to believe it. But I can't even remember him anymore. It's like he's never been there in the first place."
Break Sakura’s Heart || @lightedblaze
She knew it was normal. The human brain was only capable of so much on its own. Memory stores developed over time, moments that meant the world were slowly lost as time past and filled a body with more experiences and knowledge to replace. Forgetting earlier years of life was something to be expected.
As was those long gone from one’s life. Sakura could still remember the day she realized she couldn’t recall her mother’s laugh. A panic attack in its truest form from something so simple, so utterly calm and it had sent Sasuke in a flurry. How can I have forgotten her? she remembers sobbing in his arms, burrowed in his chest as her shoulders wracked hard against his frame.Â
His hand on her back had been warm, his lips pressed to her hair soft, and his heartbeat steady as he slowly helped her calm. His voice had been low as he expressed his own past, recounting the day he couldn’t remember the rasp his father’s voice after work, his slow loss of his mother’s expressions, forgetting the faces of his neighbors one by one in favor for the sharp, ever-lasting memories saved with the Sharingan.
But Sasuke was still alive. Sarada hadn’t lost her father and still– She was experiencing the same thing.
The searing pang through her sternum was suffocating as she looked into her daughter’s face, seeing so much of the man in question. Some days, the sight of Sasuke was a blessing; others a curse. Then, Sakura couldn’t figure out which one this was.
Maybe both.
Pulling the girl in her arms, she held her close. Tucked that little head of black hair under her chin and found strength in those growing breaths, the steady heartbeat, the life thrumming through her proof of Sasuke’s love.
“Papa loves us more than everything else in this world,” she finally murmured. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry you don’t know him and you don’t get to feel his love. I would give anything for you to be with him.”
Even if it meant going herself. But that was a thought she’d never spoken, a wish she’d never shared with anyone but the reflection that haunted her in the mirror. Sakura would have gladly sacrificed her bond with her daughter if it gave Sasuke a bond with his. He had already been through so much, had sacrificed so much for family; he shouldn’t have to sacrifice any more.
“He’ll come back.” He’ll be back. “One day, one day Papa will walk through those village gates and never leave again. And you’ll know what I know when you look at him. I’m so sorry I can’t give you that now.”
“Oh hello there, Sarada-san. I see you decided to get here early as well..” She smiled and glanced around the classroom. They were the only two here at the moment.Â

“Where...?”
He lets his legs lay flatter on the ground so that Sarada is more comfortable; a small huff escaping his lips as he wondered whether he should really delve into an answer that could branch into something longer.
.... Then again, when had he ever denied her something?
“Well-- the Man in the Moon gave them to me.” He points a finger up to the sky for extra emphasis. “I guess he just thought snow and ice really suited me.”
