Your wish is my command! Listen i know Sun is a dumb boy, but i bet he has his soft moments too.
Sun didn’t really get it. Well… that wasn’t really a surprise since Sun didn’t really get a lot of things. But with this he felt like even when he put in an effort to figure it out, he seemed to dig himself into a deeper hole each time. He looked to his hands in his lap to gather his thoughts for a moment, the orange glow of the sunset danced on his skin, then he looked to the boy sitting a few feet from him.
“Hey,” he finally called out, his voice cracking a little since he wasn’t used to the adjusted volume he was using right then. He had been arguing before, so toning down to a normal level took him a second.
“What…?” X, who hadn’t turned to look at him grit out. Sun figured he was still bitter about the argument. To be completely honest Sun had already forgotten what they had been arguing about in the first place anyways. If he knew himself it was probably something stupid.
“I’m sorry,” he said, honestly, because he knew if he didn’t remember then it was probably something they shouldn’t have been arguing about in the first place.
He watched X’s shoulders droop, and a deep sigh came from him as his previously tense arms sagged around where they held his knees close. For a moment Sun thought he had just made things worse yet again.
“It’s… alright. It was stupid anyways,” X calmed down and looked up at the sky now.
“Yeah, I know I can be dumb,” Sun joked with a chuckle, “It’s a wonder sometimes that you guys can out up with me. I try and make it a challenge.”
A weird noise came from X, which confused Sun, and he watched the boy bury his face in his arms.
“You’ve got that right,” he heard him mumbled from behind the cloth of his sleeves. Sun scooted over next to him to figure out what he was doing.
He could barely see it since X had his face covered, but from the portion of his face that was still visible he could see just the slightest hint of a smile. Sun grinned and pulled X’s arms away from his face, which earned him a scowl instead.
“Hey, where’d it go?” Sun huffed a sigh as he looked over X’s face, a little too close for the short dexholder’s comfort.
“None of your damn business…” he jerked his arms away, though had Sun’s grip not been light he likely wouldn’t have been able to stop the energized boy.
“You’re allowed to smile, you know.”
X looked up in surprise and looked over at Sun, “…what?”
Sun looked him in the eyes with a serious look, “I said you’re allowed to smile.”
X was at a loss for words, and it actually took him a minute to fully process what Sun had said. He looked back down to the grass, then the sky, letting the smallest smile creep onto his face.
“I know that… idiot. But thanks…” he murmured.
“Of course,” Sun grinned back at him, getting it right this time.
