Stealth Mission
@lightbcrn
Eyahn strolled down a busy market street, dressed casually in a long pink skirt and flowing blue shirt. Her hair was wrapped in a simple grey-blue scarf like many of the denizens of the Last City. Unbeknownst to anyone, she was not very comfortable in the outfit, and grateful for the thin Hunter field armor beneath it. No plating, no pouches, just protective, nigh impossible to detect Kevlar, and a Hunter’s knife hidden be.
It was not often that a mission took her deep into the City’s interior. Most shady business happened on the fringe, the poorer districts near the walls. But Eyahn followed directions, moved where the Vanguard told her. Cayde was certain intel directed her to a building this way.
She wove through the streets, blending with the crowd as only a young girl can. Too young and small to attract interest. Little Awoken eyes flitted around, looking for details matching the descriptions given to her. Her Ghost kept a tug in her mind, a gentle guide. Eyahn focused on breathing, tamping herself down. She was such a small Light already, but lessons from Ikora had made her even smaller. Here, so close to the Traveler, a little flitter like her would look to most as nothing more than a Ghost, perhaps, passing by. Surely not a full fledged Guardian. This was necessary to her mission.
@lightbcrn ❤
With the awakening of the Traveler and its Light felt across the system, not only has it given the Guardians back their powers, but it has given those in the Dark a new beacon to be driven to. Zara was no exception. Whispers among stray Guardians has left them with some interesting news to inquire upon. Was there really a new Speaker?
It only seemed appropriate for a new age of Light, and the death of the last one. Supposedly. They will not know for sure until they arrive in the Tower, This was far more dangerous than it normally could be. The Vanguard were still present so getting around and out unscathed would be a feat indeed.
Under the guise of a new Guardian returning from the wilds does the fiend land, peering around before starting to move. Many of the vendors were either busy or too bored to notice the strange black wisps that trailed after them in the night. Lucky them, they were too oblivious to see what sort of monster was in their midst.
The Traveler being this close was blinding and distracting, but it could not hide the other immense source that lingered even closer. Making their way towards it and also nearing Ikora they dawn a cloak. They glance to the Warlock as she seems to stiffen slightly but shake off the odd feeling of Darkness. She is looking over her many books and Guardian reports, there are bigger things to worry about.
Though once out of sight, Zara drops the cloak and moves a bit quicker. Closer and closer they come to the Light and to that which wields it. Quite some time has passed since their last unfriendly visit but Zara doubts Zufash could ever forget them.
“Knock, knock. I hear there’s a new Speaker in the City.”

@lightbcrn liked for a starter
“This world is... nothing like how I remember. Things made of metal that move and talk? Flying machines?” Senua says, her head never holding still as she looks about the Tower. She’s so fascinated that she’s allowed herself to speak to the voices around her, though her voice is quiet. When she finds herself in Tower North, she’s stalled by the grand device that spins and spins in front of her.
A presence is alerted to her by the voices, a hiss of warning that someone is coming her way. She turns to face them, a little tense at the stranger’s presence. A young woman in cloaks, and while she seems harmless, Senua knows better. A beat of silence, and then Senua points out towards the great white sphere that hovers above the City. “Is that the ‘Traveler’?”
lightbcrn replied to your post: Love how a bunch of asshole racists start...
Isn’t this the same person that was saying “smut is ruining the fandom!11!!!” or something lmao
I’m pretty sure it is. I’ve been told it is. But in all honesty, they were as irrelevant then as they are now so I don’t really remember exactly who started that train.
@lightbcrn. continued.
“Zufash,” Ikora cooed, just loud enough to be heard over the slight crackle in the air, “Zufash, baby, it’s okay. I’m okay. You didn’t hurt me.”
She slipped off her gauntlet as fast as she could and rolled up her sleeve just enough to see the spot that the child shocked with her touch: There was no visible mark, thankfully, and her skin was only a bit warmer than usual. She looked from her forearm back to Zufash, racking her brain for how best to calm her down ( and ease her out of such a powerful state ). Ikora knew from experience that strong emotions - or perceived pain - can amplify Light-based abilities to a devastating extent...especially when one isn’t entirely able to control them.
She quickly stepped forward and knelt down on one knee in front of Zufash, holding out her arm palm-up for her to see; her other arm was extended towards the little girl, reaching out through the wisps of swirling Light as though she was offering her hand to the child.
“Zuzu, baby, please come here. Come see.”
