Packing list: Pasadena ranch weekend getaway
It feels like sooooo long since I’ve done a real, big trip, but we’re trying to take little weekends where we can. This past weekend, we got a little AirBnb at a ranch in Altadena, just to try to chill out and unplug a bit. I’m getting to be a pretty liberal packer for such short time periods, but when we’re traveling by car, it just seems easier to have options and not overthink it. Most of these items are from my everyday spring capsule, but as usual with travel, I allowed myself access to anything. It’s just more practical.
It was super warm (90s), so I broke out my shorts and a linen dress that works great in heat. We also have friends in Pasadena we don’t see nearly enough, so we met up for brunch on Sunday. I almost brought my Docs for dusty hikes, but it was just too hot to entertain such an idea.
cardigan (similar) // The only layer I needed.
muscle tank // Swapping in navy for my usual white.
crop top // For a little yoga.
denim shorts (similar) // These are feeling a little big on me (gasp).
linen dress // This seems to be the ultimate travel dress.
pajamas // Gotta have something cozy.
water bottle // Collapses small in a bag!
leggings // I’m trying to practice yoga more on my own and not just in class lately.
turkish towel // For a trip to the pool.
swimsuit (in stores only; similar) // I got this for a steal in the American Apparel going-out-of-business sale. It’s my first one-piece in a while, and I’m still adjusting, but I love the low back and how simple it is in general.
book // Getting back into my Agatha Christie mysteries.
toiletries // Lots of sunscreen!
sunnies // Very important!
Birkenstocks // For by the pool and around the house.
bandana (similar) // Gifted as a wedding favor, and I’m digging this color right now.
