Life fey, also known as Bloomkin, don’t build settlements. They cultivate them.
Their villages are living tree‑homes grown from ancient trunks, vine‑woven bridges that thicken or thin with mood, flower‑roofed halls that bloom during celebrations, bioluminescent groves that glow with communal emotion, and moss‑softened paths that shift with the seasons
Every structure is alive, responsive, and symbiotic. A house might:
bloom when its resident is joyful
wilt when they’re grieving
grow new rooms for new relationships
shed petals during conflict
The village is a living emotional barometer.
Culture
Life fey don’t measure time by clocks, they measure it by emotional seasons.
Examples:
The Season of Renewal (hope, healing, new beginnings)
The Season of Stillness (rest, reflection, grief)
The Season of Bloom (joy, celebration, connection)
The Season of Turning (change, uncertainty, transformation)
These seasons affect festivals, rituals, clothing, magic, and social expectations
Life fey believe emotions are weather, not flaws.
Social Structure
Life fey organize themselves into Groves. Extended families formed by emotional resonance, not blood.
Within a Grove are Bloom‑Circles (friendship groups), Root‑Circles (elders, mentors, healers), Seed‑Circles (children and their caretakers), and Thorn‑Circles (protectors, boundary‑keepers). A fey may belong to multiple Circles at once.
Kin‑Blooming: Life fey form bonds through a ritual where two or more fey exchange pollen‑light, causing their hair or markings to briefly share colors. It’s not romantic by default, it’s about connection.
Daily Life
Life fey spend their days caring for living structures, singing to plants to encourage growth, harvesting emotional pollen for rituals, healing wounded creatures, guiding lost travelers, holding communal meals under blooming canopies, and teaching children through story‑gardens
Their lives are rhythmic, nurturing, and deeply communal.
Magic
Life fey magic specializes in:
Accelerating or reversing plant growth
Healing wounds (physical and emotional)
Reading emotional “auras”
Creating pollen‑lights that store feelings
Growing living tools or weapons
Communicating with flora and fauna
Creating protective thickets or vine‑barriers
Their magic is gentle but incredibly potent.
Conflict & Defense
Life fey avoid violence, but when threatened, the land itself rises.
Their defenses include thorn‑walls that erupt from the ground, vines that bind intruders, pollen clouds that induce sleep or calm, animated roots that trip or restrain, bloom‑spirits that distract or mislead, and healing circles that keep allies standing
Their strategy is always protect, pacify, and preserve.
Aesthetics
Life fey communities feel like warm sunlight through leaves, the scent of flowers after rain, soft moss underfoot, firefly‑like pollen drifting in the air, and gentle music from wind‑chimes grown from seedpods
Their clothing is petal‑layered, leaf‑textured, soft, flowing, and fragrant, and changing with the seasons
Their hair often resembles flowers, vines, or soft moss.
How Life Fey Interact With Fey of the Other Elements
With Magic Fey: They feel deep kinship. Magic fey bring possibility, Life fey bring growth.
With Earth Fey: They share cycles and patience; Earth is the soil, Life is the bloom.
With Air Fey: They love their joy but struggle with their inconsistency.
With Water Fey: They share emotional depth and healing instincts.
With Fire Fey: They are wary. Fire can destroy forests, but also renew them.
With Tech Fey: They distrust artificiality but admire innovation when it respects nature.
With Undead Fey: They feel sorrow, not fear—Undead represent a cycle interrupted.

Meet Sly Trap, a carnivorous plant monster who may seem a bit intimidating at first glance, but she's actually very friendly.
I've yet to come up with a backstory for her, but I'm honestly really proud of her design. I think she might be one of my favorite Skylanders OCs I've made thus far.
A Skylander that came to me in a dream! His name is Leaf Blade, he's a Life Skylander in training.
He's quite confident and loves fighting, he's very cocky and competitive. He's still young, so he isn't muscular yet.
His leaf blades when swung can launch leaves at his enemies, when stabbed in the ground he can create plants that grow towards his enemies. And of course, he can slice enemies with his blades!

Did you know? Life was one of the few elements (alongside Fire and Earth) that didn't include a Skylander who could fly before Skylanders: Swap Force. However, in the 3DS version, Zoo Lou can glide. However, since Sunburn and Flashwing fly in their trailers, this was the only element that did not have any Skylanders seen flying.
