I've been at this library 7 gd years and communication has always been a problem and I am legit finally gonna lose it. like I made a typo in the newsletter about registration for a popular program saying it opens today when it's actually supposed to be next weds, so when people were calling and walking in to register I told them to come back next week. but then i looked in our online calendar and reg was open and some ppl registered online but I changed the reg date so the non techy old ladies had a fair shot
when I told our programmer and asst director what was going on they were like oh yeah we decided yesterday to change the reg date online to match the newsletter and we told the people at reference yesterday- aka two people who don't start work till 1 on weds. meanwhile I am always on the desk weds mornings and since I wasnt told I said my decision to open reg up next week was final and I was not letting those ladies I turned away get fucked over. I was v bitchy about it and will probably get a reprimand lmao but like what the fuck is wrong with everyone in this building like I'll send mass emails to the librarians if something pops up w a patron just so no one looks like an idiot but I don't get the same consideration. it's not the end of the world but considering someone important quit recently due to the communication issues in this place you'd think the admins would get their fucking act together
