Now, Liam was in the corner. A few years earlier he didn’t even think that Mark would ever corner him like that. A few years ago, Liam was sure he was above all these faunus around Ellie’s house..or even the rest in the world. Now that they were fighting against each other, it looked bad for the business man.He didn’t know the first thing about defending himself like Yujin always told him to do. He just smirked and said he would never need that.“Heh..what? You think because you have me on my knees I feel like you all the sudden? It takes a lot more than that to bring me down!”Empty words, the man felt scared and shook in his shoes while the other was above him now, able to tear him into shreds. Wasn’t the one scar on his neck enough for Mark? Did he really have to go even father years later?Liam didn’t understand it at all but violence didn’t need an explanation for him even if there was one. A really good one.“You just got a little stronger over the years...so what? You can kill me now but people will chase you. The business is mine now, people will kill you if you kill me. But hey..you get your revenge right? It won’t stop Ellie from killing you and she is close to getting her maiden powers. There are many things you don’t know about our group and our plans. Perhaps you are right...maybe I feel helpless now. Do you expect I wouldn’t feel threatened by a 6′3″ faunus beating the crap out of me? Heh...you are gulliable enough to believe that I can keep that hard ass shell forever.”Keep talking..just talking..if he was lucky, he could shoot him in a moment. He already had luck doing the same with Yujin but sadly, their semblence stopped most of the damage despite being unprepared. Even they got stronger despite being full of shit.“You are not better than Ellie or I am. You enjoy our suffering just as much as we did back then. Revenge...hah...do you think you are better? You are turning into what you hated.”The first time Liam looked into Mark’s eyes, he knew something was up with him. Their eyes would cross a few times in different situations and yet, these eyes made him shake every time. Just as cold as Liam’s. One thing he knew the moment they met: The two of them would never be friends in this life.“You just show me that Faunus are what I thought they would be...nothing but vengeful and vicious animals waiting for their pray.”

Liam liked to be at Ellie’s house. It had always been fun around there compared to Yujin’s. And Ellie was definitely interesting and her house was big. A lot of faunus were around here too but only to serve her every need and wish. In return, she teased them and he didn’t know how to feel about that. The first time he saw a faunus that close next to him was at her house.“It’s fun to make them trip when they have a plate full of snacks and tea. They get scolded and send back without food but what do I care?”He never attempted to anger any faunus before. Yujin’s father had told him that they were just like humans and deserved respect and in his own house, nobody ever spoke about this topic. At Ellie’s house however, she was pretty open about how she treated them. All of them had a pretty anxious and fearful expression around her and she had her fun with that.But it seemed to get boring for Ellie at one point. Besides talking to a few other people and to Liam, she seemed to be rather bored with the puppets around her. “It’s no fun anymore. They all expect me to make them trip or whatever..”Seeing the faunus up close, he realized some hair tails..some had ears like animals. But all of them possessed these sharp teeth and this spark in their eyes. He felt a uncomfortable to say the least. Never ever did he want to cross any of them because simply pu: Liam was afraid of many things despite being so ice cold in front of others. He was afraid that Ellie would get hurt eventually when she played her game. But he also feared that she would eventually stop being friends with him if he crossed her. The teenage girl seemed to have her way and that way only...except if something more interesting came around.“Change your plans then...”,he said quiet while sipping on his tea, following the change in her face piece by piece.“Change?”He never intended to give her something new to play with. All Liam wanted to stay here and drink tea from time to time, having fun with other stuff than teasing the faunus servants.“Just...get a new one....treat them well and make them feel safe until you slowly destroy them.”What was he even saying? Liam never thought of doing the same things to someone else but..if he was thinking a little harder, he realized that had been his relationship with Yujin. They knew each other for so long and eventually, their parents decided for them to get married when they are old enough. But somehow, the teenager could never really get used to that thought besides having the business later when Yujin’s father would die. He never had any interest in them...compared to Ellie, Yujin was really boring and too submissive for his taste. It was fun to play with them here and there since they were crushing hard on him. If he wanted he could have anything from them but one step at the time, he thought to himself. After their dad would bite the dust and the business was Liams, he could just divorce them. Hopefully not have a child on his side by that time...Ellie seemed excited at the plan though. Not really convinced yet...but interested.“A new one you say?”“Yes...”Oh dear, what kind of ideas did he plant there in her brain...the next wekks went by and he had to do a lot of stuff around Yujin’s house again. It wasn’t as fun as with Ellie, but Liam had to be there from time to time just so Yujin wouldn’t wonder where he was. The working excuse wasn’t as convincing anymore at one point.Coming back to the girls mansion after a month and a half was like a breath of fresh air for Liam. He was excited to have some talks, maybe even hear the gossip she was spilling. Ellie was a nasty girl but somehow, Liam liked that. She was attractive and not as boring and confused as Yujin. She knew what she wanted while Yujin was still at the point of self discovery...a thing he just found annoying. Thank god they weren’t too clingy about him and he was able to have other friends. Sure, Yujin did ask him to introduce them to his friends but Liam knew nobody would like a freak like them. He barely liked them and the more time he spend, the more he spilled the beans on their relationship to Ellie. This time, Liam had another story to share with her when he noticed a new guy. Tall, different clothes from the other faunus..but still..a faunus. His eyes had a distinct blue, almost glowing. Seemed to be the surprise that Ellie was talking about when she invited Liam over. Excited and with a huge grin she welcomed Liam and sat down with him, gesturing him to come a little closer to listen to what she had to say.“This is my new toy~ Isn’t he perfect~”, she whispered and had that usual evil grin on her face.“...Why does he have different clothes?”“Oh..you know I took your advice serious. Separated him from the others, treat him differently from the others. Right now, I’m pretty nice. Give him different food and allow him to share it with the others. Just so he will believe that he can help them when he is on my good side...but there will be the time when I am just..destroying him. You were right. This seems like more fun! And it will take a while.”All Liam hoped for Ellie was that this new guy didn’t believe what the old ones would say about her or maybe attack her. She had to play her card right and act very well to be able to drop this act later without expecting any hesitation.And surely enough, eventually the new guy was looking even worse than the other faunus around him.Liam was afraid to even ask what Ellie had done to this guy but he seemed broken. But the more Ellie encouraged him, the more he started getting into teasing the faunus in Ellie’s house. Just that tripping them wasn’t enough. Making a mess on purpose wasn’t enough at one point. It was fun to put people down together with her...and one day, they had an interesting kind of talk.“So? Still bored by the snorefest your financee is?”“...well yeah. Sadly, they won’t change..but I got as far to demand things from them they were hesitant about a while ago. It’s a little more fun but not really satisfying.”“You probably have more fun pulling Mark’s tail here than whatever they are doing heh~”She wasn’t wrong. If he could he would rather put them through the same torture he put Mark through together with Ellie. But then his dreams of having the family business would crumble...maybe if he just waited a little more...he could attempt to do it...As the two were talking and laughing, the poor tortured faunus walked passed them, serving whatever Ellie had ordered him to bring until she waved him off. Her eyes trailed down to the tail of the faunus and then back to Liam who lazily sat in his chair with his snack. It didn’t take him long to grab it and pull it hard enough to make him whine. It was crazy that faunus looked like humans but sounded like animals.The young faunus just looked at Liam, wanting him to let go. Mark had probably a hard day here already since Ellie was in a pretty good mood and she only ever was in that mood if someone was suffering more than she did. Liam never dared to ask but...he assumed what she did with this guy.“Let me go!”“Tch..”Liam gazed at Ellie to see her reaction. he never said much to her servants and just gave them a look that said it all...but it looked like Ellie wanted him to be a little rougher with them.“Please just...let me go...!”Now he understood why anyone would enjoy hurting others so much. He was above this scum faunus and could do whatever he wanted. Sure, he was still afraid one would jump him eventually but screw that...before that happened he would rather shoot that bastard in the knee. Unlike Yujin, Liam never tried to become a hunter but he was looking out for his safety. These creatures might be fast to block him hitting them but he could always threaten them at gunpoint without them even knowing that he had a gun with him. Shooting a person, no....the young man was afraid of screwing that up. It was all just show but a dangerous one. But now was not the time to show his dangerous potential, it was way too early.“You better do your job right or there won’t be any food for you guys tonight.”The few people that were with Liam and Ellie just chuckled and laughed around them, swooning over how badass Liam could be. He felt really good even if he put down someone else for his 15 minutes of fame. It was worth it.As Liam went home after this exciting moment, he didn’t know how to feel. He would come back to this boring household, his boring soon-to-be wife who was already sleeping and didn’t know what he was doing behind their back. And that...was really thrilling if he thought about it. Having sort of a double life with a really beautiful woman on his side..yeah..that was a lot better.

Liam rose his eyebrow. He had never really spoken to Mark that much. Just threw insults at his head when he was still young and naive. Thinking that his mouth was his biggest weapon. That was next to his real weapon,his money. He couldn’t argue with what the blue-eyed man said to him. With the power he had, there was a lot bullshit coming. Even the incidents with Mark for the first time was quite troublesome and gave Liams image on his job a big scratch. Only now, he realized that the scratch was there.“Can’t really argue with you. You just gotta accept that fact with you wanna have power. I did that. And I also accept that I did a lot of things that weren’t okay. Probably just to show that I can be strong in some way. If you are a person like me,people won’t take you serious since I’m not the strong alpha male.”Liam was thankful that Marina accepted his apology pretty fastly with an angelic face as always. But Mark was different and Liam didn’t blame him.Maybe he just apologized to make things right for the things that happened way back then. Maybe just so he could sleep again. Maybe even to apologize what he found out about Ellie. This woman...she was toxic. But somehow..he had hope in her to change...a little. An apology would never ever make the things better that the woman did to Mark at all. Liam wasn’t shocked when he found out since Ellie was a dominant woman who fought for her position on the top. Mark didn’t seem like the “Fighting for Dominance” type at all.“You must think I’m scum since I’m...well...’dating’ this devilish woman and since I look like the devil dressed in Armani myself. You are allowed to do that. But I have enough power over myself and my ego to apologize for the things that happened. Anything I was involved in. Saying I was young and stupid isn’t an excuse,it is a reason tho. I can’t give you much since money won’t make you any happier and you don’t look like the guy who wants to punch my face to make it up.”The man gulped a little.What if the person in front of him REALLY wanted to punch him...that would hurt a lot. Not to mention that people would ask Liam what happened.“But then again,you already moved on anyways. From everything.”

Be strong now, Liam. This time she shouldn’t get what she wants. But...if he was honest with himself...his body was weak and her body was tempting. Damn,this ‘staying strong’ thing wouldn’t be easy at all like that. “You know what I want..”,he almost growled,being disgusted with himself that he couldn’t stay as strong as he wanted to. His eyes trailed away from her,looking outside the window and trying to think of a solution. She was smart enough to know that he was already in her web once again.Dammit,why was Ellie so...toxic. She definitely wasn’t good for him in the long run,that was one thing Liam knew for sure but he was also afraid to let go of a ...kind of steady girlfriend?No..she wasn’t his girlfriend. She was some bed bunny who probably jumped around from bed to bed when Liam’s apartment wasn’t open for her. Who knew how many men she had next to him. Or before him.Or what she had done to them.“And you know what you want...or else you wouldn’t be here in my apartment. You know how our routine is. I know what our routine is. We do it somewhere and you leave with your sneaky sneaky messages left on my counter.Or on my phone. Don’t you think it gets a little boring?”The man began to smirk. One thing she hated was when things got boring...or when someone pointed this out to her. She didn’t stay silent when things were boring. The first time she said this was probably not the best time and threw him off. And kinda killed the mood.“You like it a little rough. No..not a little...I suppose you just like to dominate the other one. I already feel like you do dominate me despite us not even being a thing. It’s strange. But don’t think I’ll leave the battlefield to you alone. The other idiots you dated before probably cried their eyes out once you hurt them with your claws...but I won’t.”Wow,Liam...you go..he thought to himself after being at least a bit serious.

Liam laughed and shook his head as the brown-haired began to speak in riddles. Seriously? Wasn’t she the one possessed by many things at the same time? Well...that was what Liam thought...he didn’t know much about her but she just seemed like that spoiled rich girl who needed to break out. Now that the man thought about it,yes,he didn’t know much about her at all. What she did in the past,during her school years,during the day when she isn’t out with him. These were never topics the two discussed since the young woman seemed to be open and yet very guarded.Thinking about her words again for a moment, the blond realized that he lost himself in all his work and money. Without noticing it. It was better than interacting with others and getting hurt, he supposed.“I have control over it. I’m the master over my mind.”,Liam said as confident as he could and then looking away from her. He didn’t want to look weak or in doubt. Because he was...and while Liam didn’t know much about the young girl he met in this weird club, he felt as if she already had a better grip around his wrist than he wanted to admit. Her sparkling eyes,this sneaky smile on her lips,raised eyebrows when he said something...it threw him off a little...or..a lot. He never wanted to give anybody that much control over his decisions or his being,but Ellie surely had a lot of control over him. And it looked as if she had fun with that. Her green eyes with this shine gave it away. He was her possession right now...not the other way around. His thoughts were racing through his head as he came to this realization and as he tried to grasp one of them,it faded away just as fast as it appeared. Liam didn’t want to look like a loser,like something she could use. Granted,sometimes he liked that when she handled him the right way. But that was all bed stuff. He didn’t want to end up doing things he doesn’t want to do...who would believe the business man anyways?! Nobody...she had the upper hand,her nails already digging into him and ready to tear him apart. because that was all she knew.There were many options what he could do...either..let her do whatever she wanted and end up being some kind of toy or let her know that it took two to tango.“I’m the master of ALL things I possess. If there is the slightest sign that something will take over me...well then...game on. I won’t make it too easy.”For now,it just seemed as if he had to play this game with Ellie,if he wanted or not. Perhaps...he would crack a bit of her shell...somehow. And then he would be a little smarter. Sweet talk and soft stuff didn’t satisfy the lady as he realized early on. Gifts and presents were different, but her smile faded just as fast once the present was open. Ellie was used to attention,she loved attention..but slowly and surely,it lost it spark for her and she was bored.Well then...if the young woman wanted to play hard to get , he would too...The thought alone was a bit scary to him since he always picked up the phone as soon as he saw her message or a call incoming from her. Liam was just not really the best at dating and this whole game thing and basically started to get boring to her...it wasn’t helping much that he usually called her more often than she did.What an idiot he was...“Anyways, I’ve gotta go now. I’ve got important things to do and I suggest you take your own advice as well.

Liam was a little confused that she mentioned that...so fast. Since this really awkward night where he suddenly ran off with her somewhere,they didn’t just cut strings. No..awkwardly enough both of them just liked to play with fire. So...one night became two nights and then four..and then more and more. He didn’t think much of it..except that she has been the only one who actually stuck around with him that long despite his work schedule and coffee addiction. It never felt uncomfortable like Liam’s other stories with women. It was good as it was. Sometimes he even felt slight anticipation to see her the next day or in a few hours. Strange...Another thing he realized was that the two never really..talked about really important topics. They mostly flirted which was thrilling and nice but if the young man thought about it...he didn’t know much about Ellie in general. She was beautiful,a stunning woman with a certain charm. Somehow,his guts told him she wasn’t good news...but he wasn’t either if he was really honest.It was just now that he felt as if this game wasn’t as interesting when you knew nothing about the other. She didn’t know anything about him either but it didn’t bother her much. In fact,the business man thought that she would dump him any minute,giving him a cheeky smirk and she would be gone.While his heart was probably ice cold,Liam knew that what they had wasn’t love. It was physical..nothing more. That Ellie prompted him to “play” this kind of game kinda showed him that she didn’t really know that these two things were just..different to him.All these bed stories they had..that wasn’t love. Love was simply different. And sex didn’t need love in his opinion. Who knew what she meant when her eyes were sparkling slightly dangerous at him...Perhaps it was a really bad time to try to get her in a deep discussion...it might anger her and she would storm off in the end so his words had to be good.Liam’s head was empty though and Ellie was probably wondering what took him so long to answer since he usually answered instantly. It wasn’t the best idea to say something out of context now since,like mentioned before,he knew nothing about her...except the things he saw...“I think you do confuse something here. We’ve been interacting on a different level before. Everything went just one way,and we knew it. But if you are really interested in this kind of “game”...I have to get to know you better. I’m sorry to disappoint you if you excepted me to promptly say ‘yes’, Ellie. I do think you are an attractive young woman with charm and who knows what she needs to do in order to get what she wants. But that’s about all...I know nothing more about you,which is kinda upsetting.”He folded his hands and almost stared at her to capture her expression and reaction once he would be finished with his words.“I wanna know more about you. Love might be a game,but it shouldn’t end badly. Even if it’s expected. We should get to know each other beyond the whole kiss on the cheek and bed sheet things. It is just beneficial for us both.”
