I wanted to make a list of Pokémon for Davis, my Ikarishipping kid! As a future botanist and florist, he loves himself some Grass types. His first Pokémon was the Budew that used to sneak into his and his mother's garden to get watered. Dawn helped him catch it, and even Paul cracked a smile at his sons excitement over his first Partner - though Paul was hoping he'd pick a Turtwig like he did.
Davis didn't stay in Sinnoh for his first journey, as most kids do. He traveled to Kalos in order to visit all the beautiful flower gardens there. He tried to catch a Flabébé, but it dodged his pokéball and he managed to accidentally catch a Skiddo. He was excited regardless. It was just the three of them for awhile, both Budew and Skiddo evolving along the way. He was travelling back to Lumiose when he found an injured Phantump. He rushed to the Pokémon Centre and stayed until he knew it was healthy. While he was boarding his plane, he felt some wriggling in his backpack and found the same Phantump had hitched a ride. Davis asked if it wanted to go on a journey with him, and it agreed!
Davis usually has bad luck catching Pokémon, so he never really bothered to catch a lot. He made friends with wild Pokémon while travelling. He always helped out the wild Pokémon when he could, and always appreciated the memories. When he turned 16, after taking a year off to study under the Honey Man in Floaroma, he traveled to Kanto to study with Erika. Davis took a breather in Cerulean, where a wild Azumarill was causing havoc in the local gym. He recognised Misty from a picture in his house, and offered his help. His Budew had evolved into Roserade by now, and a powerful Energy Ball knocked Azumarill out cold. Misty thanked him for his help and offered to give him a ride to Celadon City. When they were about to leave, Azumarill challenged him to another battle. They ended up becoming friends, and Davis caught the trouble maker.
He caught a Caterpie just to keep Misty from screaming even more on the way into the city, and Davis thought it was cute. Misty side eyed him the rest of the way.
While studying with Erika, Davis met Liam who was there for a contest. Davis was quite smitten, especially when they both found a badly injured Eevee in an alley. Davis had been quick to use some naturally medicines he learned to make, and was impressed at how well Liam cared for the Eevee. The small Pokémon needed someone to care for it, so Davis volunteered since Liam was busy travelling. They exchanged numbers so Liam could keep tabs on the Eevee, but Davis messaged him regardless. He also spammed Liam with videos and pictures of Eevee evolving into a Leafeon while in the gym.
