On his birthday, despite his willingness to forget it existed, he was surprised by those around him. Pulled out throughout the day for meals and later for drinks. He'd had to excuse himself to shed a tear or two in private at the overwhelming feeling of love and support. Both things he'd yet to get used to even after several years getting to know those around him. That was what prompted him to act a bit out of character when he'd heard Liam wasn't planning on doing anything for his own birthday. Pay that love forward, and such. Sam went through his phone contacts and texted those he was aware Liam seemed to like. Then he recruited his roommate Domenico to come with to convince Liam to go out with them.
He'd picked one of his own, personal favorite pubs in town. A place called Four Quarters that had several locations. It was basically an arcade for adults with a pub attached and the typical food you'd find at most pubs throughout England. Samir had no idea if Liam liked video games or arcade style things. But he figured if he didn't find a game he liked, at least he'd be surrounded by friends and fun either way. Greer, Jess, Evren, Rita, and Zach met them there. Sam wasn't much of a party planner, but he'd managed to get them a big corner table for some privacy between games and it left room for more people to join if Liam wanted.
"I wasn't sure if you'd like this place but I'm glad you came out." Sam spoke up, sliding in next to Liam. Even after putting down three slices of pizza, he found himself reaching for another. He swore he could eat an entire one by himself if he wanted to. "Anyways, happy birthday, mate. How old are you now?" Samir clinked his ass against the other man's and took a small drink of the golden liquid inside. He genuinely hoped Liam was having a good time. A night off from the daunting tasks they carried out from day to day. Just some good old fashioned fun with friends. Samir couldn't think of anything better, considering he hadn't dreamed of having friends like these before he'd gone undercover. For the night he chose to ignore the fact that at any given time they could all be ripped away from him if his cover was blown. That was a worry he could pick up again later, when he was alone and not trying to celebrate Liam's day.
