Yeah, Sam's character is NAWT likeable in Limehouse Golem lol. DB's much more so, but I think it's really meant to be a showcase for Olivia Cooke. It's got a lot of other famouses in it, like Bill Nighy.
I'd recommend it, though, and it benefits from a rewatch or two. I think it's quite underrated compared to media like From Hell or even Ripper Street. It poses some interesting questions around truth, doubt (do you see a pattern with Sam's project choices), ego, trauma, gender roles, gender identity and sexuality. Plus it's got a gritty yet gothic atmosphere. And it's camp.
Given when it was filmed I'd also be very curious to know what was going on behind the scenes wrt The Lore...
Anyway I think I watched it on Prime.
