They don't want to mistrust him. But for one, they are, quite understandably, terrified. And for two, they're kinda under orders to not trust him.
Hanji: “There’s someone in every friend group that nobody likes.”
Everyone: *Looks at Floch*
Floch: “Okay first of all, screw you.”
this is REALLY old but i forgot i made it for a while and it resurfaced on my phone so here you all go
I forget that Armin was literally in charge of Levi’s squad during RTS and that the others were relying on his command.

Eren actually missed out on a lot of the squad moments.
I would love to know whether the 104th squad ever did go out drinking together during the time-skip. When Connie mentioned it (that part always makes me so sad), he was referring to everyone from their training days. But a bunch of them either died or turned out to be traitors. I hope Levi’s squad at least got to go on that outing though.
(1) Ok we all loved that lil blushing Eren and squad moment in ch108 but me? I kinda found it disturbing. The squad started talking so casually about who'll inherit his powers as in - eat him. On top of discovering about the curse of Ymir, Eren had his own friends there, talking right in front of him about who gets to eat him. And I don't care even if they were joking, the fact that they were talking about something like that so naturally in front of Eren made me rage.
(2) For real tho…. they were so nonchalant about eating him and replacing him like as though he was nothing but a damn gardening tool… and even if you argue: ‘they were just joking they weren’t actually serious’ - NO. You don’t just joke about something like that. That too right in front of Eren. And Eren still goes on to state they are all precious to him. They don’t deserve him. Nobody does. At first I wasn’t so sure about Eren rebelling against the SC but now I firmly agree with him
I can feel your sentiments there because I found the casualness of their conversation very disturbing too. But I think for them, it’s a natural part of their life that they’ve come to accept in order to adapt to their situation, so it’s not weird for them to discuss it (and Eren was the one to bring it up). Having said that, I agree that it doesn’t make it right for them to have been so dismissive of Eren’s life. The sad thing is though, Eren himself doesn’t value his own life above everyone else’s, so he never gets upset over people speaking of/to him in that way. I don’t think they were joking either, but perhaps they weren’t aware of how serious and difficult the matter actually is, since they’ve never witnessed/experienced the ritual themselves. It’s one thing to ponder something and another to actually do it.
Lastly, I agree that Eren honestly deserves better treatment from everyone, and I don’t think he did wrong by rebelling against the SC when they were all being unrealistic and he was always treated like a monster by them. I find that his efforts are under-appreciated by those who are dear to him too. I know he didn’t do everything on his own, but truthfully, without him, more people would be dead than if the others weren’t around to help. I mean, even if he had gotten captured by RBA and taken to Marley, I’m sure Zeke would have gotten him out of there anyways. But yeah, Eren deserves better, and that’s why I hope he at least gets to accomplish the goal he sacrificed so much of himself for by the end of the story.
