Lev got Sharf as a joke gift from Lucio.  They were still pretty far south at the time, so when night came around and the lil pup kept trying to nuzzle into Lev’s shirt, he gave her the nickname “Sharf”.  He eventually got used to having her cuddle against his face at night.  Being so little she could easily burrow down and hunt for food much quicker than the bigger dogs of the mercenary group.  When he was forced into the coliseum she was alone on the streets for a few years.  A few people tried to take care of her, but she refused to leave the one window along the wall of the coliseum.  Every few nights she’d whine as someone cooed to her in an old, foreign tongue.  They were eventually reunited during one of the first errand runs Lev ever did for the palace, and she’s been the unofficial kitchen guard ever since.      Desmond isn’t quite sure what to think about Alfie.  He always liked to sit by the canal and feed the fish.  Alfie was a surprise because they had lept up into his lap after getting fed.  Even though they don’t quite grasp the concept that they can’t breathe out of water, they still wanted to thank Desmond like people do.  Unfortunately, this became a routine of Desmond walking to the canal, Alfie very excitedly trying to hop out of the water to say hello, and Desmond very frantically trying to place them back in before they dry up :’)

Raised in a distant southern tribe Lev is the third of five children (3 sisters, 1 brother).  His home was invaded around when he was eighteen, many of his fellow tribesmen were killed, and he was used as payment to one of the attackers.  Lev was forced into mercenary work under Montag Morgasson, later Lucio once the man had abandoned his prior roots.   He was able to spare many of those he was meant to kill.  Around the time of the battle where Lucio had lost his arm, Lev managed to escape and try to find his way back home.  Lucio tracked him down and forced him back into mercenary work.  It was then when he met Ilya Devorak, an apprentice doctor at the time who became a good friend of Lev’s.  He was able to learn to read through the young doctor, along with regain hope of freedm from Lucio.  When Lucio had gained power of Vesuvia he forced Lev into the coliseum to fight for his amusement (with the hope of him eventually dying).  Lev was spared by the scourge of the south, and rescued by a servant who had discovered he was still alive after receiving many life threatening injuries. Lev now works under the protection of the Countess, Nadia Satrinava, until it has been determined that he is well enough to return to his homeland.  Lev plans to work for as long as the countess desires, as thanks for sparing his life and granting him the protection he needs.

Lev tried to do the same a few years later when they had the triplets, but seven hours into delivering the babies and only at two of three babies Nadia was ready to curse Lev out if he didn't go into the room and help her. Luckily the last one came out not long after he went in to hold her hand :')
