Howard Stark x Reader in that good New York Cold featuring holding hands to stay warm
screams it didnt turn out EXACTLY like this but....BUT i thought it was cute? so....yeah. I HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS NESA (even though im pretty sure you do) so yeah!!
Rockafeller Rink was put up in the 30â˛s :D
âYou gotta be kiddinâ me.â You grinned at Howardâs groaned exclamation as you stared at The Rink at Rockefeller Center. There werenât too many people, given that it was a Wednesday, and it was middle of the day, but it was still cold, and still a bit busy, and you looked over at Howard when he didnât say anything else.
âYou can skate, right?â you asked as you took his hand and drug him towards the entrance.
âSkate?â he asked. He scoffed, then pulled his hat down with his free hand, muttering, âCourse I can.â
âCourse you can,â you parroted.
âWouldnât you rather see the Rockettes?â he asked as you pulled him to the front desk, smiling brightly and ordering two sets of skates.
âWhy?â you asked as you turned to him. The front desk clerk went to grab two sets of skates, squinting in Howardâs direction for a long moment. âWeâve seen the Rockettes,â you said. You fixed your gloves. âWhen we were in Europe â four times â and every year since weâve been back,â you added.
âExactly.â He leaned on the counter and slid money towards the clerk. You glared at him. He smiled prettily. âWhy break tradition?â
âThereâs plenty of time to still see the Rockettes before the new year,â you pointed out.
The clerk slid the skates over the counter. âSay,â he said slowly, clearing his throat, âAre you Howard Stark?â
You took the skates, eyebrows arched high, then flashed a smile at the clerk. âHoward Stark is taller.â You walked past the aforementioned man and headed for the rink. He followed you, groaning, pulling his scarf around his chin as. You sat on a bench. âBe honest, Howie,â you said as you worked your shoes off, âDo you really know how to skate?â
He scoffed, yanking a shoe off. âOf course I do,â he replied. You carefully laced up your skates and watched him. â âm a professional,â he muttered. He leaned over to lace up the skates. You watched him, sighing softly. You had hoped that the skating would relax him â heâd been tense since coming back from California, since deciding to put together S.H.I.E.L.D. with Phillips and Peggy. That, and running Stark Industries, working on the new inventions, helping is parents with Bubbe, who wasnât doing so hot for the past few weeks â it had all created a tension in his shoulders. You could see the stubble over his jaw from beneath his scarf. He tugged the hat down over his ears, then looked at you. There were shadows under his eyes.
You held out your hand and smiled. âAre you ready?â
He took your hand and stood, pulling you up. âReady as Iâll ever be,â he muttered. You smiled. The two of you hobbled towards the ice. You gingerly stepped out, holding Howardâs hand tighter, and he followed after you. One of his skates slid and he swore, clinging to your hand. You squealed and grabbed his other hand, which pinwheeled next to him.
âI thought you said you could skate!â you exclaimed. You spread your legs to keep steady and held his hands tighter.
âI mighta been lyinâ!â he squawked.
âWhy?!â you shouted back. He pulled his feet under him, watching the ice like it would crack in a heartbeat. You couldnât help but giggle. âHowie, weâve been together for years, why couldnât you tell me you didnât know how to skate?â You carefully moved backwards.
He held onto your hands â the warmth of them was almost overpowering, making your fingers sweat in your mittens. He shuffled after you. âYou were excited,â he mumbled. You tugged his hands up, straightening him out, then pulled them down to tug him to you. He gulped. âDidnât wanna letcha down, baby,â he murmured.
You squeezed his hands. He squeezed back, holding them gently. People skated past you, slowing only with the faint comments of, âIs that Howard Stark?â
Howard mumbled, âNah, heâs taller.â
âHe gets that a lot,â you added.
The people continued by.
âWe donât have to stay,â you whispered.
He placed a kiss against your mittens, watching the way your eyes crinkled as you smiled. âYou wanna skate, weâll skate.â He scrunched his nose. âEven if âm bad at it.â
You feigned a gasp. âYouâre bad at something?â you asked. You slowly worked your way backwards, pulling him carefully with you. He gave you a sarcastic laugh in response. You smiled. âA few laps. Then we can go.â You tilted your head as you skated. âMaybe catch a picture?â
âMaybe catch a drink?â he suggested, âOr five?â He looked down at his feet again. âIâm gonna fall!â
âYouâre not gonna fall.â
âIâm gonna fall!â
ok ok ok ok nichi for your consideration: if link didn't spend so much time with allen bc of leverrier's orders do you think he would have been drawn to allen anyways? bc lets face it allen's charisma is Maxed Out and even people who haven't been with him that long are ready to Die for Allen Walker
Linkllen week asks
MIYO;;;;;;
Ooooo thats a tough questionâŚ. I think itâd depend on how much âtimeâ it takes, because with Krory and Miranda, Allen barely knew them for less than a week and they were already Die Hard Allen Walker Stans. Heâs definitely got not only the charisma but the heart to win others, especially those craving⌠affection and love, as Krory and Miranda were (and as Link is, I feel).
Of the entire series the only ones immune to Allenâs charms are Chaoji and Kanda (though Kanda ended up losing in a sense given where he currently is lol).Â
If, say, Link only accompanied Allen on missions, itâd probably take maybe one before Link could see the truth, but it would take a handful more before Link would be willing to trust Allen.Â
Iirc, only a couple of months actually pass between Link meeting Allen and when Allen leaves the Order. In that time, Allen gains so much influence over Link that he begins to doubt the years of loyalty heâs had to the Order (Leverrier) (though to be fair the uhhh third exorcists kinda exacerbated that trust as well lol).Â
WHAT IM GETTING TO IS yes. Even if heâd spent less time with Allen, they still share a lot of similarities (orphans, seeking father figures, isolated by peers, working to earn a âreasonâ for living, etc.)
Not only that, but Allen offers⌠friendship, to Link, something he arguably literally doesnât have lol as far as we know, at least. Not only friendship, but affection, understanding, forgiveness, and even acceptance.Â
And Allenâs just plain charming and endearing. Sharing donuts, snacks, tea time, sleeping in the same room, Linkâs nagging (that imo comes more from worry than âdutyâ).Â
In a way, Link was doomed from the moment he met Allen. He never had a chance.
âpipe the fuck down, asshole.â for whoever you want
The commons of the 1-A dorms were loud with sounds that should have been studying. It make Bakugo twitch just listening to them as he stared at the same problem he had been working on for the last thirty minutes.
Still, everyone kept talking. Kept yapping. Wouldnât shut up.
Bakugoâs grip on his pencil grew until it snapped. âPipe the fuck down, assholes,â he growled.
The noise stopped. He looked up. Everyone was staring at him, sitting neatly in their seats. âFucking thank you,â he spat.
He tossed the pencil aside and grabbed another from his bag.

you know how much i love one large leprechaun! and it uh....ended up being celebrating. /shrug i figured you wouldnât mind so much :D
invasion tag list under the cut! i hope you guys enjoy!!
The Invasion and a Christmas for Two
The hotel room was as small as the rest of them had been, but you went out of your way to make sure that it was nicer â you strung up lights (using command hooks) and garland (also command hooks), you got a tiny LED tree, and had bought Sweeney a variety of little whiskey bottles to wrap and stick under the little tree.
The leprechaun walked into the room with a groan and stopped. âYou do this?â he rasped as he shut the door.
You glanced up from the last bottle you were wrapping, tying off the ribbon with a neat bow. âCourse I did!â you exclaimed as you set the bottle beneath the tree. âTis the season!â You grinned and threw out your arms. âTa-da,â you sang.
He reached out and tapped one of the little ornaments you hung from the tree, smiling to himself. âWhat made you wanna do this?â he murmured.
You shrugged and sat back on the edge of the bed, smiling as you stared at the tree. âDunno. Just felt like it.â You tilted your head. âTheyâre all for you, so you can open them if you want,â you said with a nod to them.
Sweeney arched an eyebrow as he picked up one, shaking it next to his ear. He sat next to you. âOh,â he groaned with a smirk, âWonder what it could be.â
âHa, ha,â you grumbled.
He twisted the top off without even opening the paper, ripping it off and flinging it away. He downed it in one gulp and winced. âPeppermint?â he asked, peeling the paper away to read the label.
You shrugged. âTis the season?â He chuckled. âI dunno, I just thought itâd be nice.â You pulled your knees up and stared at the tree. âFirst Christmas Iâve spent away from family,â you murmured.
You felt Sweeney lean into your side. âAnd yer stuck here, spendinâ it with me,â he mumbled.
You leaned back, and set your cheek against his shoulder, staring up at him. âDonât make it sound like Iâm forced to be here,â you said. He snorted, looping his arm around your back. âIâm glad to be here, Sweeney,â you whispered.
He pressed his cheek against your head and sighed. âGet some rest,â he mumbled, letting you go. You flopped backwards against the bed with a groan. You were out in an instant.
When you woke up, the room was still dark and you were tucked into the blankets. The lights from the little Christmas tree sparkled around the room. You sat up slowly, rubbing your eyes, and yawned. Sweeney was sprawled out on the small, overstuffed chair in the corner, snoring loudly. You smiled to yourself and ruffled your hair. Your eyes drifted back to the tree. A small box sat in front of the tree. You scooted to the edge of the bed, keeping the blanket around your shoulders, and snagged the box from the dresser.
It was a small box, flat, and wasnât even wrapped. Flipping the box over, you saw that it was an empty cigarette box, and rolled your eyes. You eased the box open and shook the contents out into your hand. It was a charm the size of a quarter, and had a paper tucked inside. You carefully pulled it free and unfolded it, finding it to be a thin piece of tissue paper covered in circles and lines. As you smoothed it out on the bed, you found them to be constellations.
ââs when we met,â Sweeney grunted from his seat. You looked up. He was sitting up, scrubbing his face with a groan. âThe sky,â he said, waving his hand.
Your heart thudded in your chest and your face warmed. You folded it with extra care and slipped it back into the small charm. âThank you,â you whispered.
He shrugged and stood, kicking off his shoes. He flopped onto the bed next to you. You turned the charm over in your hands and set it on the nightstand. Then, you rolled over to face him. âYer welcome,â he mumbled.

âDo you celebrate the holidays on your planet?â The question came as a surprise, especially when it came with the Southern drawl and the clink of a glass on the table in front of you. You looked up, smiling at the sight of Leonard, and asked him what he meant. âWell, like Christmas? Hanukkah? Things like that?â
You tilted your head. The relationship with your soulmate had been interesting â what with the clashing of cultures between Earth and Asterla, and you both struggling to understand the differences between the two. Heâd taught you about baseball, you taught him about a similar sport played in the nebula fields of Asterla; you shared how dancing was done on your planet, and he taught you how to two-step.
âHolidays?â you asked as you took the glasses, sipping at the sweet tea he gave you, and smiled. âCelebrations? Like birthdays?â
Leonard tilted his head. âYeah, kinda. But across the globe.â He scooted closer to you, tracing the lines of your bones in your wrist, and tapped at the PADD in front of you. âThey were all religion based, once upon a time.â He tilted his head. âHanukkah is still religion based, but the rest arenât. Thanksgivinâ, Christmas, the lot of the big ones on Earth donât really have a religious meaninâ to âem anymore,â he explained.
âSo, what holiday made you ask me about them?â you asked as you leaned over the PADD. It was a picture of a two stories house surrounded by trees, each of them decorated with multicolored lights and silver tinsel. Leonard was in the middle of the picture, holding a little girl on his shoulders as she balanced a star atop a pine tree in the middle of the yard.
Leonard cleared his throat. âThatâs Joanna,â he murmured, âNormally, weâd be decoratinâ my parents place for Christmas, but uhâŚ.â
âYouâve been up here,â you murmured. With your free hand, you brushed the space at the base of his neck, where his own soulmate mark was â a swirl of brightly colored nebula, with a single blue star in the lower left quadrant â your birth nebula, and the star that roared in your chest. He cleared his throat and relaxed under your touch. You tilted your head as you stared at the picture. âMy family would celebrate for the New Year,â you sighed, âYou would say it was the largest holiday on Asterla.â
âWhat would you do?â whispered Leonard as he leaned into you. He adjusted his arm, slung it low around your back, and slid his hand down your arm until he reached the outlines of your wrist.
âAn eclipse happens every new year, like clockwork,â you said with a dazed smile, âSo, Asterlites would go out in droves, and when the planet went dark, you would see the glow of thousands of Asterlite stars everywhere.â
âSounds lovely,â he said as he brushed his nose against the shell of your ear.
Your face glowed, backlit by your own star in a similar way that you described the ritual. You tilted your head away from his gentle lips as your face continued to warm. âYes, well, then we would blow up hundreds of thousands of fireworks and eat and drink and dance until the sun returned.â You turned the PADD towards you with your thumb, not straying far from Leonardâs embrace.
âNow, wait a minute,â he puffed, âI thought you said dancinâ was for marriage.â
âNo, waltzing is for marriage, Bones,â you murmured. A thought struck you. You grabbed the PADD and stood, swinging in to press a loud kiss against Leonardâs mouth. âI have the perfect plan!â You stumbled away from the table, turned around, and finished your tea before kissing him again. âMeet me in your quarters in,â you ticked off your fingers as you jogged backwards, almost colliding with Uhura, who was, luckily, paying attention, âThree hours!â
Leonard nodded and touched his mouth. No matter how many times you kissed him, or he kissed you for that matter, he would never get used to how hot your mouth was. He shook his head and turned back to the table, stuttered, and whirled around. âThatâs my PADD!â he shouted with no response.
He did what you said, though, and met you at his room three hours after you had stolen his PADD, rubbing the star at the base of his neck as he wandered over. You were practically vibrating when he walked up and pulled him into his room. âThis took a lot of bribing, and I owe Scotty my shore leave days the next time weâre somewhere he enjoys, but!â
A squeal pierced the room the second Leonard passed the door. There, in the middle of his living space, was Joanna. Though, as Leonard looked around, it wasnât exactly his living space anymore: with the use of multiple hologram nodules (Leonard counted about fifteen, but he was sure there were more) and a synced video call on his PADD, you had turned his living area into his parentâs front yard in Georgia, complete with the pine tree that remained unlit.
Joanna jumped in front Leonard, throwing her arms out wide, then wrapping them tight around herself. He laughed, and you noticed how it caught in his throat. She then went on to talk about school, and how you had called to set everything up, and that she didnât need him to put her on his shoulders anymore, but she was still so glad that he could be there when she put the star on the tree.
âAnd!â Joanna declared as she climbed the stepstool, she had lined up next to the tree, âThereâs an even bigger surprise for you!â
âOh, there is?â asked Leonard. He glanced back at you, and you smiled.
Joanna quickly set the star at the top of the tree, then jumped from the stool to run over. She pointed at the PADD that sat on the nearby table. âIf you hit the big circle there, youâll see it,â she said with a nod. Then, she held her hand up to mouth to loudly whisper, âStarlight really helped with this one.â
âYou two are plottinâ without me, are ya?â drawled Bones. He swallowed a nervous lump in his throat, then tapped the circle as Joanna said.
The entire room lit up with brilliant, multicolored lights. It wasnât just the tree in the middle, but the hologram just barely caught the edges of the trees that lined the front yard.
Joanna beamed and clapped her hands. Then, she turned to face Leonard. âMerry Christmas,â she said, âAnd I canât wait to see you soon.â
âMerry Christmas, kiddo,â Leonard choked out.
The hologram vanished.
You rubbed your arms. âI was only able to rig them up for a short time butââ
He whirled around and wrapped you up in a hug, burying his face in your shoulder. You slid your hands up his back and squeezed him tight. âThank you,â he murmured through a trembling sigh. You squeezed him tighter. âThank you.â
âYouâre welcome, Leonard,â you whispered.
2 with shadow moon
â2 [I love you said: With a hoarse voice, under the blankets] with shadow moonâ
this took me WAY too long, and i DEEPLY apologize for that nesa, that was v rude of me. i hope you enjoy this super soft Shadow, because we all know that he deserves this and MUCH more
Rain pattered on the windows of your hotel room. You had wondered why you hadnât woken up, and that was because Shadow hadnât gotten out of bed, for the sun was hidden behind thick clouds and thicker rainfall. You rolled over without opening your eyes, searching for the man with your cold fingers.
He groaned a soft, âWhy?â when you grazed his back. He shifted, then rolled over, one arm lifting when he felt you wiggling your way across the bed. You set your head on his bicep and smooshed your frigid fingers between your chest and his. âYouâre freezing,â he whispered. He pulled the thick blankets over your shoulders, then over your heads, and tucked them between the pillows and the headboard.
âExactly,â you whispered back, âAnd youâre warm.â
Shadow traced the shell of your ear with his finger. His other arm pulled you closer to him. You slid one leg between his and tucked your cold toes beneath his calf. He hissed. âThis why you keep me around?â he rasped, ââcause Iâm warm?â
You smiled. He returned it. âItâs one of your perks,â you said. He hummed. âPlans are cancelled,â you said as you pressed your forehead against his shoulder.
âBecause of the rain?â he asked.
âSure is,â you replied.
You felt him chuckle. âI knew that when I woke up a few hours ago.â
You groaned. âOf course you did,â you mumbled.
He chuckled. âI ordered breakfast.â He planted a kiss against your scalp. âThought youâd like that since we canât go out and explore.â
âFirst day in a foreign country and weâre rained out,â you grumbled.
Shadow laughed again. You relaxed, content with the way that his finger traced over your forehead and through your hair. âHey,â he whispered. You hummed. His voice was once against thick with sleep and the movement of his hand was slowing when he said, âI love you.â
You smiled. He felt it again his skin. âI love you, too, Shadow,â you sighed. âYou might wanna cancel that breakfast. I think weâre both falling asleep.â
âIn a minute,â he mumbled. In a minute you were both fast asleep once again.
