May 12: “Overpack. It’s why suitcases have wheels now.” While that’s pretty funny I actually didn’t overpack for my trip to Utah! It was a 5 day hiking trip (I hiked the day I landed and everyday till the night before I left). I’m a huge planner so I started planing what I was going to take the second I bought my plane ticket @delta. I picked out and rolled up a pair of leggings and t-shirt for each day and then I set aside an extra three if I could get them to fit into my Carry-On or backpack. I packed enough socks for each day and two extra pairs. I did purchase fancy hiking socks from @rei (they were on sale) and I loved them. I honestly can’t compare them to regular socks because I’ve never hiked that much in my life I’m “regular” socks. But my feet didn’t really hurt. My ahnu shoes from @rei had a BIG part in that. They are wildly comfortable and sturdy and offered amazing ankle and foot support through the whole trip. If this matters: I don’t think I had to re-tie my laces once. I would definitely repurchase them even though they are a bit expensive. They are amazing! I would absolutely recommend them. My first two days of not three, my feet were wet for majority of the hikes. #noblisters! While the shoes do hold in the water that may get in through the top I wasn’t totally uncomfortable. I had to put them by the fire to dry them but they were good as new (minus the sand all over them) the next morning! So while I’m actually enjoying this review session...I need to start a blog cause this is a lot of words for the gram haha. Stay tuned for details on that blog and more reviews about all the stuff I packed and didn’t pack! #lesson12. Start a blog. Jk. Pack the essentials first and put the others to the side until you know everything necessary fits well. #utah #battlecrik #chasingwaterfalls #hikingatire #ahnushoes #rei #optoutside #hikehigher #whattopack #tobecontinued (at Utah) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxY0PeZlM90/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=53pgoos91x2g
