"Are you able to ..." or "Can you ..." in Japanese is: 出来る 【できる】 Important to mention is that normally only the "Hiragana" version is used and not "the Kanji/Hiragana" version. できる comes from する which means "to do" while できる means "can do". できる is the "Potential Verb" of する.
