Les Mis WLW/Women appreciation week

is your gay ass starved of the much needed wlw content? do you wish there were more women-centric works in the fandom? are you just tired of the same characters being at the forefront?

the solution to all your problems is here because your favourite lesbian @probably-pride-related and your local bi @persephonah are hosting a les mis wlw/women appreciation week!!

when will it take place? 20-30th of July

what are the tags? #lesmiswlw and #lesmiswomen

what kind of content is welcome? all kinds of content are welcome!! be it edits, fics, playlists, hcs, faceclaims, songs, literally anything

what characters should we focus on? any female character you can find in les mis!! the works absolutely can feature not female characters, but the women should be the foucs of your work. these three posts contain what i believe to be a full list of all the female characters mentioned in les mis (warning for discourse in the posts) 

what are the pairings? any pairing you can come up with is fair game. don’t feel limited by what’s popular, we wholeheartedly encourage pursuing all the rarepairs

do the works have to be romantic in nature? definitely not!! as said in the name of the week, it’s not only a women-loving-women week but also women appreciation week so feel free to create non-romantic stuff

Life is hard, the floor is hard, her mattress is hard and the slaps her father gives her are hardest.

She was not given much softness, but what she had was torn away by life, by living, by the hands of her mother as she guided Eponine to clear tables among men with hard stares.

So she is hard, the calluses on her hands are hard, her eyes are hard as people stare, and her heart is perhaps the hardest--she has herself and her brother and she will be hard she will be a fortress to protect them.

But sometimes she wakes up before the alarm and as she drinks her coffee she looks at the city layered with mist, the grime and sharp corners hidden, and it is romantic, and it is soft and she wants.

When she meets Cosette she doesn’t see Cosette like the city in the morning because Cosette has no sharp edges to hide, Cosette is entirely soft, she is roses, and pastels, and soft linen, and there is nothing and never has been anything hard about Cosette.

This is what Eponine sees in Cosette.

Eponine is wrong.

It takes months, almost a year of darting eyes and hesitant hearts but Eponine learns the truth.

Cosette is soft but that doesn’t mean she has always been that way. She has known hard matresses and hands and stares, she had looked being hard in the eye and said ‘no.’ Cosette has chosen to be soft, she has fought to be roses and pastels and soft linen and she whispers across Eponine lips ‘I am cold iron hidden in soft cotton and I can help you relearn your softness.’

They are not, and never could be the same, Cosette will always be roses and pastels and soft linen--

--but Eponine is warm hands and hot coffee and together they hold each other, hold each other back, push each other forward
