i never see any queer Gavroche so I fixed it??
am I the only one who wants young transgender Gavroche demolishing stereotypes as a young pre-teen? Refusing to wear the dresses his mother buys him until eventually she just gives up and is like "fine get your own clothes then ungrateful whelp" and Gavroche is just all "ok" and nicks himself a snazzy pair of boys breeches and a boys coat Every once in awhile one of the Thenardiers will slip up and call him Gabrielle and he'll just refuse to even turn his head. (Before his parents would get frustrated, just keep screaming the name over and over, making a big fuss, especially the Madame, but they know it makes no difference now and who really cares, let the bloody kid play at being a man, humor the boy, there's more important things to do) One of the other street kids calls to question whether he's man enough to be their leader and Gavroche locks him with a challenging yet unaffected look and asks "you gotta problem with me mate" and the poor kid just is like "uhhhh... eerrrrr" and Gavroche smirks. "That's right. 'Course you don't. We're all friends here." And nobody ever thinks to blink twice at Gavroche's leadership ever again By the time he meets Grantaire and Courfeyrac and the gang he's such a boyish boy and everybody who knows him knows it so well that they don't even think to question whether he is a boy or not and when they find out well, that's okay, no big deal, they love Gavroche just as he is and Gavroche gets sick of hearing them say it but they keep it up for a LONG time and eventually Grantaire rolls his eyes and is just like "OMG you dorks shut UP he gets it, do you really think Gav needs your approval after all this time, stop freaking out now" and Les Amis just look at Gav in unison an he just nods and gives a 'ya p much' face Gavroche spitting in someone's eye and grinning wickedly whenever thy refer to him as a "little girl" or treat him delicately ((It's appropriate to perceive a younger character as genderqueer, right?? I mean that sincerely, I don't know :/ I wouldn't think there'd be a problem but I'd like to make sure, as I am not genderqueer myself))
