hi juli! I’m not class of ‘21 but just to give you some positive college vibes—when I got my acceptances, I wasn’t really sure where I wanted to go so I made this huge chart with my top 3. I’m a nerd so I did a deep dive into all the different programs and it was so fun!! I’ve never regretted the college I ended up choosing :)

I have been waylaid in inktober due to con crunch for Geek Girl Con, so have a sassy looking salad in a cloak because it is cold as all get out here lately.
Name: Lerina
Born: Years of the Trees, 1186. Not long after the marriage of Finwë and Indis.
Race: Ñoldor elf
Appearance: A typical Ñoldo. Grey eyes, dark curly hair, approximately 7"6 - tall for an elf woman. She had a soft and curvy body type in her youth, but became strong and muscular when she started training with weapons.
Occupation: A warrior, eventually becoming one of Fëanor's guards.
Life: Lerina was born in Valinor to Ñoldor parents who were strongly devoted to the Valar. She was raised in this way, taught to obey all of their teachings and treat their word as law. She was told that her place was as a servant, and to strive towards meekness and submissiveness.
She became increasingly disillusioned with this life however, and as a young adult she began to question a lot of the things she was being told. This caused a widening rift between her and her family. When she eventually left the household to learn weaponry and serve in Fëanor's household, her parents renounced her completely.
She trained with swords, bows, spears and every other weapon available, finding it liberating. She eventually became one of Fëanor's most loyal servants and guards, following him across the sea to seek the freedom she so desperately wanted.
She ultimately dies in the battle with the balrogs, and doesn't consider reembodiment until well into the Third Age.
Personality: As a young person, she was quite shy and much more of a follower than a leader. She had trouble speaking up for herself, believed herself to be talentless, was quite naive and would believe almost anything she was told. That started to change more as she grew older, and once she found her voice, she was determined not to let it go. As an adult, she strives for freedom, independence and confidence. She is a hard worker and has a strong sense of loyalty to those she respects. Her old insecurities do tend to have a way of coming back to her though, and she can find herself fighting against her instinct to have no faith in herself.
