[“The group are hanging out in Twig’s cottage. She had opened it up to you, and allowed you to stay another night in the cozy inn. Kremy? What do you do?” Nikkie asked. 

“Well…I stand a couple feet from Gideon, feeling drained and sad…” Richie described. “Feeling a desperate need, I speak up.” ] 

“Hey Gid?” Kremy called.

“Yeah?” Gideon called back. 

[“Okay. And Gideon?” Nikkie spoke up. 

Mace adjusts himself in his seat. “I am currently working with Twig on reading the sylvian engineering book. It’s been 30 minutes already…and other than a couple big words, I’ve been mostly successful. I place my finger onto the page and look up towards Kremy.” Mace described, acting it out. ] 

“I um…” 

[“I grab the book.” Richie describes.] 

“Can I put this down for a minute?” Kremy asked him. 

“Uhhh…Sure?” Gideon replied. 

[“I let Kremy take the book.” Mace described. 

“I put down the book, making sure it’s still open on the ground to the same page.” Richie described. “Then I pull Gideon into a hug.” Richie actually brings Mace into a hug.

“Awwww…” Mace cooed. “I mean-” Mace clears his throat and pretends to be confused.] 

“U-Uh…” Gideon muttered, staring at the man. 

“Sorry…I know I usually ask you first, but…”

[Richie hugs him a little tighter.] “I really need this right now.” He admitted.

[“Gideon?” Nikkie asked. 

“I hug Kremy a little tighter because…he needs it. And I’d never say no to Kremy.” Mace explained.] 

“No worries Krem. Anythin’ to make ya feel better.” Gideon told him, patting his back. “Is there…a reason as to why you needed a hug so bad?” Gideon asked. 

“Yeah…” Kremy closed his eyes. “It’s just felt like a long time since I hugged you…” Kremy told him. 

“Didn’t we hug yesterday?” Gideon asked. 

“Yeah, but that was 5 minutes…” Kremy muttered. “I’m talking a real…” Kremy gently shoved his face into his shoulder. “A real hug.” 

Gideon nodded his head and continued to take the hug. 

[“This is really sweet…” Andy admitted. 

“Yeah…I wanna see where it goes.” Derek admitted next. 

“Me too…” Nikkie admitted.] 

“Can I give you a hug too?” Twig asked him. 

Kremy looked at Twig and smiled. “Sure.” He opened his arm and let Twig jump into his hand. Kremy carried her up to his shoulder, and hugged her firmly, but gently at once. “Thank you.” 

“You’re welcome.” Twig replied. “Anything for more uppies.” 

Gideon tittered and laughed a bit at her last sentence. “Oh Twigsie…” He muttered. 

“What?” Twig asked. 

“You’re such a nutjob.” Gideon told him. 

“A nutjob?” Twig asked. “What’s that?” 

“Uhhh…It’s a playful name…Like, another name for a silly goose.” Gideon explained. 

“Ooooh…” Twig thought for a moment and giggled. “So I’m like a squirrel?” Twig asked. 

Gideon laughed. “Thahat’s not what I meant. I meant more like…Uhh…” 

“It’s a loving nickname that people will give to mischievous little kids.” Kremy explained. 

“Wait, what?!” Twig looked at Gideon. “But…I’m not a child! I’m a respectable adult brownie woman who’s the perfect little housewife!” She told them, crossing her arms in an adorable way. 

[All of the Avantris members bursted out laughing at this perfect explanation. 

“That’s something a kid would say!” Derek yelled out.] 

Gideon snorted and covered his mouth to try and hide his smile. “Uh-*Ahem*” He pulled himself together and nodded his head. “Right, right. A respectful brownie woman. The perfect housewife.” Gideon repeated.

“That’s what I thought.” She warned. 

Kremy smirked a little bit. “What do you think is expected of an adult woman?” Kremy asked her. 

“Well, I’m expected to cook, clean, take care of Pigtunia, and keep myself together even when my life is falling apart.” Twig described. 

[“Cut…Cut, this is getting too real.” Andy muttered.

“Her eyes somehow get bigger and more derpy.” Nikkie described with a laugh.] 

“Oh reeeally?” Kremy asked. 

“Yeah!” Twig declared. “What? You don’t think I’m ‘adult’ enough?” Twig asked. 

“I think you are…but there’s only one single way to test this out.” Kremy told him. “And it starts…with you closing your eyes.” 

Twig widened her eyes for a moment. “What?” Twig tilted her head. “Uhhh…Alright.” Twig closed her eyes. 

[I adjust Twig so she’s laying against my arm like a baby.” Richie described.] 

“Now your goal is to prove to me that you can keep a straight face.” Kremy explained. “You ready?” He asked her. 

“Ready, Kremy!” Twig declared. 

[Richie giggled a little bit. “I start tickling her.” Richie said next with a little laugh of his own.

Nikkie dropped her jaw. “What?!” She reacted. “Not fair!” She argued. 

“You’re not entirely done for. Roll for deception.” Richie told him. 

Nikkie rolled the dice. “Damn…11.” Nikkie said. 

“You wanna twist?” Richie asked. 

“Nah…I think I’m good.” Nikkie replied. “Twig can’t hold a straight face. She starts to laugh after about 5 seconds.” Nikkie described.

“And what does her laugh sound like?” Kremy asked.] 

“Hahahahaha! Thahahat’s cheeeheeheeatihihing!” Twig started giggling right away. 

“By the power of the Gods…” Kremy smirked. “We’ve got ourselves a child, Gid.” Kremy teased. 

“Indeed we do.” Gideon reacted with a laugh. 

[“Shouldn’t he roll for Sleight of Hand as well?” Derek asked.

Nikkie hummed. “Right.” 

Richie rolled his dice. “17.” Richie said. 

“And I rolled a 13 for Dex saving throw…” Nikkie muttered.

“Yes!” Richie cheered.] 

“Krehehemy plehehease! Lehet me try agahahahain!” Twig pleaded. 

“No can do, Twig.” Kremy stopped tickling. “You got only one shot, and you lost it.” Kremy declared. 

Twig giggled and held her stomach. “Nohot fahahair…” She mumbled. 

“Don’t worry Twig…You’re not the only one to lose.” Gideon told her, patting her head. 

“What?!” Twig looked up at Gideon with a frown. “What do you mean ‘I’m not the only one’?!” Twig yelled. 

“I mean, you’re not the only one.” Gideon told her. “Frost and Gricko lost too.” 

[“Uh-” Mikey widened his eyes and awkwardly looked away. 

“Wow…Way to throw us under the bus, asshole!” Derek yelled at Mace. 

“What?! It makes sense!” Mace reacted. 

“Twig looks to the others for hope.” Nikkie explained.] 

Frost was the first to speak up. “To be fair, I anticipated a much more painful test…and was quite unprepared for tickles of all things…” Frost admitted. 

“And there’s no way I’m winning that.” Gricko told her. “I’m way too ticklish.” 

[I poke his side.” Derek added, poking Mikey’s side in real life.] 

“EY!” Gricko slapped his hand away. “You’d better not.” 

Twig looked towards Gideon. “And you?” 

Gideon shrugged his shoulders. “Kremy tried it, but apparently I’m not ticklish.” Gideon told him. 

[“I raise an eyebrow.” Richie said.] 

“What?! I’m not!” Gideon tried to argue. 

“I do believe there’s a little nursery rhyme that will dispute that.” Kremy mentioned. “Now how does it go…” 

[Richie looked up the nursery rhyme on his phone. Once he found it, Richie grabbed Mace’s palm and pulled it towards himself.] 

“Round and round the garden, like a teddy bear…” Kremy said, drawing circles around Gideon’s palm. 

“Oh, I know this one.” Frost spoke up. 

Gideon widened his eyes. “Now wait a second-” Gideon tried to protest. 

“One step…” 

[Richie walks his fingers up Mace’s lower arm.] 

Gideon widened his eyes. “Kremy-!” 

“Two step…” 

[Richie walks his fingers up Mace’s upper arm.] 

“KREMYNO!” Gideon yelled. 

“Aaaaand- TICKLE YOU UNDER THERE!” 

[Richie tickles right under Mace’s armpit.] 

“aAAHFUHUCK!” Gideon yelled. 

[Mace actually curled up as laughter spewed from his mouth.

The whole crew bursted out with laughter, loving the moment of silliness.] 

“God dahahammit!” He reacted. “Fihihine, you win!” Gideon grumbled. “Jeez…You’re such an ass!” 

“I’m bored…” Twig admitted. 

“Bored?” Gideon clarified. 

“Yeah…” 

Torbek sighed. “Torbek’s bored toooo…” He mentioned. 

“Can we play a game or something?” Twig asked next. 

Kremy chuckled. “What kind of game?” 

“I don’t know…” Twig crouched down slightly. “I was hoping you’d know.” Twig admitted. 

Gideon laughed a bit. “Sorry, Twig.” He said. “We’re not the best at coming up with games.” 

“Well, you’re not…” Kremy mentioned. 

“Well, do you have a game idea?” Gideon asked. 

“What? Uh- No. Why?” Kremy replied. 

“There’s your proof.” Gideon concluded. 

“Aww…” Twig mumbled, crossing her arms and pouting like a little kid. 

Noticing this reaction, Frost began to feel bad for the girl. So, he looked at Gricko. “You got any ideas?” Frost asked.

Gricko looked at Frost. “I mean…It’s not a game, but it’s more a question that’ll get people chatting.” Gricko admitted. 

“I’m sure that’ll suffice. Go for it.” Frost encouraged. 

“Alright.” Gricko cleared his throat. “What’s the funniest memory you can think of?” Gricko asked. 

“Funniest memory?” Frost began to think for a moment. 

“Is that just a question for Frost?” Gideon asked. 

“Nope! It’s for everyone to answer.” Gricko replied. 

Gideon smiled a bit. “Alright, good…Cause the first thing that comes to mind is the time in the cave…” Gideon mentioned. 

“What?” Twig looked up at Gideon. 

Gideon smirked and looked at Kremy. “Me and Kremy were tryin’ to escape one of the towns during our travels. It was years ago, but I still remember it to this day.” Gideon explained. “On our way, we had found a large cave. Seeing as it was the only way out, we ran deep into the cave despite knowing how dark it could get.” Gideon explained. 

“Oh god…This one?!” Kremy complained. 

“Hell yeah, this one! It’s funny!” Gideon admitted. “The cave was pitch black…I couldn’t even see my hand in front of me.” he explained. “I offered to set my hair ablaze to help create light.” Kremy sighed and hid his face with his tophat slightly. “But Kremy, over here, told me the fiery hair would be too obvious…And that he had another way to light up the cave without getting noticed.” Gideon mentioned. “So I let him do his thing…And this bumbling idiot-!” Gideon shook his head with a laugh. “So- So for context…You know how Kremy can use the magic in his staff to light up his entire body with neon lights?” Gideon asked. 

Frost widened his eyes. “Yeah?” 

“That’s EXACTLY what he does!” Gideon wheezed. 

Frost snickered a bit and covered his mouth. Gricko threw his head back with a long cackle. 

“And oh my god- the COLORS! Yellow, blue, green, orange, fucking PINK?!” Gideon cackled. 

“Giiid…” Kremy mumbled. 

“Oh my god, I fuckin’ lost it. This guy-” Gideon wrapped his arm around Kremy, much to Kremy’s dismay. “-Thought NEON LIGHTS would be LESS NOTICEABLE, then MY FIRE HAIR.” Gideon explained with a laugh. “We almost got found cause of how hard I was laughin’!” Gideon concluded. 

“Yeah…Gid wouldn’t shut up about it for weeks after that.” Kremy admitted. 

Twig laughed into her hand. “Hahahaha! That’s pretty funny! Hehe!” 

Torbek was smiling a little. “That’s funny.” 

Gricko smirked. “Wow…I never took you as the ‘flashy’ type, Kremy.” He mentioned. 

“Shut up.” Kremy muttered. 

Gricko’s smile widened as he felt Kremy elbow him. 

Kremy pulled himself together. “Well since we’re talking about embarrassing stories…” Kremy fixed his hat. “There was the time Gideon thought hot sauce was strawberry sauce, and put it on his dessert.” Kremy mentioned, laughing a little bit to himself. 

Gideon widened his eyes before groaning. “Kremy…” He covered his eyes with his hand. “God dammit…” 

“Wait, what?” Frost widened his eyes with a small smile. 

Torbek tilted his head. “Huh?” 

“Oh! Oh! I wanna hear this one!” Twig reacted excitedly. 

“Oh god…” Gideon muttered. 

“This was at the very beginning of the Carnival LeCroux’s success, and we had successfully brought in about a hundred people for the show. At the time, that was huge for us!” Kremy admitted. “But after the show, I learned I had more than enough money to go out for dinner. And since Gid had never gone out to a fancy restaurant before, I wanted to show him what it’s like.” Kremy explained. 

“Okay.” Frost nodded his head. 

“After the meal, I gave Gid the dessert menu and told him “Get whatever you want”.” Kremy explained. “So he ended up getting a vanilla cake.” 

“Vanilla caramel, actually.” Gideon reminded him. “If you’re gonna tell the story, you gotta get it right.” He joked. 

“Right. Caramel-vanille, my apologies.” Kremy told him dramatically in french. “He got his cake. He took one bite of it, and then said “It’s missing something”. I looked up at him right at the moment he grabbed the hot sauce, and poured it onto his cake!” Kremy exclaimed. 

Gricko dropped his jaw in shock. Frost had gagged and covered his mouth, while Twig let out the most childish “EWWWW!”. 

“That sounds pretty gooood.” Torbek muttered next. 

“Torbek, no!” Frost muttered. 

“I looked at him with the most confused look…and I watched as the dude took a bite of the cake…” Kremy threw his head back with a fit of laughter. “His face!” He clapped his hands together. “His face spoke louder than words ever could!” 

“What was the reaction?” Gricko asked. 

“Did he like it, Mr. Kremy?” Torbek asked. 

“Hell no! It was disgusting!” Gideon reacted. 

“It was the look of horror, regret, and disgust, all rolled into one face.” Kremy snorted. “It was amazing!” he admitted next. 

“For context…” Gideon spoke up. “I thought the red stuff in the bottle was strawberry topping.” Gideon explained. 

“Oh yeah! And you can’t read, right?” Twig added. 

“Exactly!” Gideon reacted. “The only thing I could understand on the bottle was the little flame symbol on the side.” He admitted. 

“Oh…” Frost muttered. “Okay…that makes a little more sense.” Frost admitted. 

“Doesn’t change the fact that you put hot sauce on your cake!” Kremy cackled. 

Gideon rolled his eyes. “At least my incompetence made you laugh…” He muttered with a small smile. 

Kremy chuckled. “Aww, don’t be so hard on yourself.” 

Gideon smiled a little more. “Cause it’s not very often I get to hear Kremy cackle like a crazy witch.” Gideon added. 

“Wha- HEY!” Kremy punched his shoulder. 

“Ow! Okay, okay!” Gideon reacted, backing down. “Geez…” 

Frost smirked slightly. “Well, at least Gricko’s not alone in that…” He muttered. 

Gricko widened his eyes and froze. “Wait, what?!” 

Frost’s smirk widened. “Oh nothing…” Frost mumbled. 

“No, repeat what you said!” Gricko ordered. 

“Oh sure, I can do that.” Frost declared. 

Gricko yelped. “Wait, NO-” 

“I said “At least Gricko’s not alone in that”, if you can sense what I’m saying.” Frost replied. 

Gricko frowned. “Frosty!” He warned. 

“A reminder that you chose the question.” Frost mentioned. 

This made a growl leave Gricko’s mouth as he covered his face. 

Frost cleared his throat. “There was a time when Gricko, Hootsie and I had set up camp for the night in a small clearing within a forest.” Frost explained. “We had put a clothesline up between two trees, so my robe and Gricko’s clothes could dry overnight.” Frost explained. “The next morning, Gricko had asked Hootsie to get his shoes from outside. And…” Frost looked towards Hootsie with a smile. “I guess Hootsie got distracted…” He shrugged his shoulders. “Or she wanted to help in other ways. Cause a few moments later, we heard a screech and a moving rope. Me and Gricko got up from our tents, and found Hootsie’s body wrapped up in the rope, dangling from one of the trees.” Frost explained. 

Gricko giggled a little bit. “Yeah, that was funny…” 

“Awww, poor thing.” Gideon reacted, looking at Hootsie.

“But I don’t know if it was because Hootsie was still a little cub…because somehow…this single moment made Gricko burst out into the most outrageous, witch-like laughter I had ever heard.” Frost shook his head slightly in shock. “I’ll be honest, I thought it was fake at first, cause…Who laughs like that?” Frost asked. “But then Gricko flopped onto the ground, holding his stomach. And only then, did I realize it was a real laugh. And it’s…almost haunting.” 

Gricko’s face morphed into embarrassment. “I-I- You can’t prove that.” Gricko yelled at him. 

“Yeah…You’re doing all this talk about his witchy laugh…but we haven’t even heard it.” Kremy told him. 

“Yeah! The least you can do is imitate it for us.” Gideon told him. 

“First of all, I can’t verbally imitate. So that’s not happening.” Frost told him. “And even if I could, I would never be able to do it justice.” Frost admitted. 

“Therefore it didn’t happen.” Gricko muttered. 

“Torbek doesn’t think Frost is the kind of person to lie.” Torbek told him. 

“It didn’t happen. Case closed.” Gricko muttered.

Frost widened his eyes. Is Gricko, Mr. oldest-of-the-group, really acting like a stubborn teenager?!

Well…Two can play that game! 

Frost’s eyes lit up. “Actually, I think there is one thing…” Frost picked up Gricko and held onto him. 

“HEY! Frosty!” Gricko wiggled around. “What are you doing?!” 

“Is it here?” Frost placed his claw somewhere on the ride side of his neck. 

Gricko gasped and squeaked. 

“No…” Frost muttered. “Maybe here?” He placed his finger on the back area near the spine. 

“aAH- FroSTY!” Gricko lifted his arms up to stop his claws. “STOP THAT!” 

“Oh!” Both of Frost’s index claws went straight for Gricko’s armpits. “There we go!” 

“FROSTYYYY-” Gricko’s arms instinctively crashed down against his sides. “GAHAHAHAHA!” He hung his head as Frost’s claws continued to scratch deep into his hollows. “DAHAMMIT!” 

Twig gasped. “Gricko’s ticklish!?” She reacted. 

Gideon raised an eyebrow. “I guess so.” He replied. “But that’s not exactly witch cackles, Frost.” 

“Getting there takes patience-” Frost muttered, before scratching the muscle against the back of the armpits. 

And that’s all it took…for Gricko’s crazy cackles to come out! 

Frost gasped as his determined face turned to pure excitement. “YES! JACKPOT!” Frost shouted excitedly. 

And when Gideon heard it…He dropped his jaw. “Holy shit-” Gideon stared at Gricko as Frost tickled him. 

“That’s a more witchy laugh than Mr. Kremy’s, I think…” Torbek admitted. 

“I love it! What a funny laugh!” Twig admitted, giggling. 

“In a creepy kinda way…” Kremy admitted, visibly unsure how to take it. 

“Forget Gricko’s laugh for a second, look at Frost!” Gideon’s shocked look had morphed into a big smile the moment he saw the excitement on Frost’s face. 

Frost had moved Gricko into his left arm and began to tickle his belly playfully. “Coochy coochy coo!” Frost chuckled. “Or as you like to say, a Hootsie-Hootsie-hoo~” Frost teased in an out-of-place, but wholeheartedly authentic baby voice. 

Gricko’s laughter seemed to calm down when it was just his belly being tickled. “HAhahahaha! Frostyhyhy- Stahap this is sohohoho mehehean!” Gricko yelled. 

Kremy looked at Frost, and was taken aback. “Now THAT is something you don’t see everyday.” Kremy reacted. “It’s like he’s a child!” 

“Torbek is getting a warm fuzzy feeling from watching this…” Torbek admitted. 

“It’s both cute and funny all at once!” Twig reacted. 

With the witchy cackles and cute moments now out for the group to hear, Frost stopped tickling him and put him down. “There…Now I don’t have to walk around being accused of lying.” Frost admitted. 

Gricko adjusted his shirt and narrowed his eyes towards Frost. “Since cute and funny is now on the docket…” Gricko rubbed his hands together with a growing smirk. “I think now is the perfect time to talk about the time Hootsie made Frost purr.” 

Frost’s calm and almost cheery demeanor completely fell away the moment he heard Gricko’s words. Oh NO…

“Wait, purr?” Gideon looked at Frost. 

“As in…kitty cat purr?” Torbek asked. 

“Yes! Exactly like that!” Gricko declared. 

“Gricko-” 

“Hush hush Frosty, you’ll spoil the story.” Gricko warned him. “Now, Hootsie had a funny pattern of sitting on people’s shoulders as a little cub. She knew how small she was, and she knew exactly how to beg for shoulder rides.” Gricko explained. “One day, we were walking down a dirt road. Hootsie had been getting tired, and she kept begging for uppies. She’d just raise her little paws up and start hooting with the cutest little pleading eyes, awww-!” Gricko cooed. “And this time, Hootsie asked to ride Frost’s shoulder!” Gricko explained. 

Frost smiled a bit, remembering the way she would beg to him. “It was really cute…” 

“Anyway, this one time, Hootsie had been riding Frost for about 20 minutes. But the more time went by, the more I began hearing these…strange sounds.” Gricko began to recreate the purring sounds. “And I look over, and Hootsie is making biscuits on Frost’s shoulder!” Gricko exclaimed. “Now, Hootsie does purr, but not as loudly as this.” Gricko added. “So it had to be Frost! And on top of that, when I looked up at Frost, his eyes were slowly starting to shut as he was walking.” Gricko added. “He looked like he was gonna fall asleep mid-walk.” 

“It was a one-time incident.” Frost muttered. 

“A one-time incident that continued to happen.” Gricko added. “Cause about 7 days later, I found Hootsie kneading Frost’s chest in her sleep…and can you guess what Frost was doing?” Gricko asked. 

Twig giggled. “Purring?” 

“Well yeah, but not just purring…He was flicking his tail too!” Gricko added. 

“Okay, that’s adorable.” Gideon said to Kremy. 

“Torbek wishes he could have that…” Torbek admitted. 

“How did I never know that Tabaxi’s can purr?” Kremy asked. 

Frost huffed and covered his face with his hood. “When did this turn into telling embarrassing stories?” He asked. 

Gideon raised an eyebrow. “What are you talking about? This has been ‘telling embarrassing stories’ since the beginning! You think I found it funny that I ate hot sauce on cake?!” Gideon asked. 

Frost looked at Gideon, and stifled a laugh. “Well…That was a little funny.” He admitted. 

Gideon dropped his jaw slightly. 

“Especially when you didn’t notice the ‘fire’ symbol on the bottle before you put it on.” Frost added. 

Gideon crossed his arms. “I didn’t know I had to read sauces before I used ‘em.” Gideon admitted. 

“And that’s okay! That’s a hard lesson you only have to learn once.” Kremy told him, patting his shoulder. “Besides: you’re not the one who thought neon lights would be harder to spot than fire.” Kremy told him, laughing at himself. 

Gideon, Gricko, Torbek and Twig all laughed at that. Frost just smiled, secretly thankful that they moved on from his purring story. 

But as it would turn out, Gricko didn’t let go of the story…He was just waiting for the moment to show it off…Cause that night, the group had set up camp. While the others were getting ready to sleep, Gricko had turned to Gideon and made a shushing motion before pointing to Frost. As it would turn out, Frost had been the first one to fall asleep. 

Gideon, remembering the story, pointed to Hootsie. 

Gricko silently gasped, and nodded his head excitedly. “Hootsie…” He whispered, before pointing to Frost. “Cuddles?” He asked softly. 

Hootsie’s ears perked up, before happily trotting herself over to Frost. Laying on Frost, Hootsie started gently kneading Frost’s belly. And just like Gricko had said, a little smile grew onto Frost’s face as a little purring sound filled his body. 

Gideon couldn’t help but laugh quietly at the scene. He shook his head as he laid himself down. 

“That’s so cute…” Kremy admitted, gently elbowing Gricko. 

Gricko giggled and laid himself down as well. “I know, right?” 

Torbek smiled and laughed a little. “Torbek finds this really funny.” 

When Gideon looked over, he covered his mouth in a desperate attempt to cover up a wheeze: Twig was staring at Frost with a look of pure excitement, almost like she wanted to jump up and down and flap her hands. Twig’s reaction only added to the rare, but adorable moment. 

Gricko and Frost had been friends for a long time by this point…there was no denying that. And just like every other friendship, the trust between the two of them began to grow the closer they became. Frost felt like he could confide in Gricko regardless of what happened. However…Gricko, being the menace he is, had begun to take advantage of Frost’s trust. And this time…it went wrong in the best way possible. 

After getting their drinks from the elf on stilts at the carnival, Frost, Gideon and Kremy had started to walk away. As Frost turned to follow the others, he noticed they were missing two of their group members. “Hold on, guys…” He turned to look at the missing person. “You coming, Gricko?” Frost asked him. 

Gricko waved at Frost without looking. “You guys go ahead. Me and Hootsie are gonna fill up our waterskins.” 

“Oh-” Frost walked over to Gricko as he pulled out his own waterskin. “Can you fill mine as well?” he asked him. “I ran out on the way here.”

“Sure I can!” Gricko replied, taking it off his hands. “I’ll bring it over in a minute.” He told him. 

“Thanks.” Frost said, catching up with the others. 

Though it took a slight bit longer than he was expecting, Gricko did bring Frost’s filled waterskin back to him. “Here you go, Frost.” 

“Much appreciated.” Frost said as he added it to his inventory. 

A little bit later, the group was sitting down on a bench in the carnival. “Man, I’m thirsty.” Gricko admitted, pulling out his waterskin and taking a drink. 

“Me too, now that you mention it.” Frost admitted, opening up his waterskin and taking some gulps of water. But after about 5 gulps, Frost spits up some of the water. “Holy-” 

“Whoa! You okay, Frost?” Kremy asked. 

“That was nohot wa-hehe-” Frost widened his eyes and covered his mouth. 

Gideon widened his eyes. “Wha- uh-” Gideon looked at the others, before looking back at Frost. “What was that?” He asked. 

“Are you okay, Frosty?” Gricko asked him. 

Frost tried to pull himself together. “I’m fine.” Frost cleared his throat. “It’s nohothing, Ihi swehehear-” Frost covered his mouth again, in the hopes of covering it up. But only a second later, Frost’s body forced the giggles out of his mouth. “Hehehehe!” Frost's head went back slightly as he felt the laughter overcome him. “Hahahaha!”

Gideon blinked in surprise. “Oh Jesus!” He couldn’t help but laugh at him. “What’s so funny, Frost?!” He asked. 

“Yeah, tell us! Don’t leave us hanging.” Kremy asked. 

“I don’t know, but whatever it is…” Gricko looked at Hootsie and winked. “It must be pretty funny~” 

“Well I can only imagine. Frost rarely ever laughs.” Gideon added. 

“Whahat ihis happenihihing?!” Frost asked. He put his waterskin down as he doubled over somewhat. “Ihihi cahahan’t stop laughihihihing.” Frost admitted, lightly covering his mouth in his fist.

“Maybe another drink will help?” Gricko asked. 

“Mahahaybehe…” Frost picked up his waterskin and took another gulp of water. He had just barely managed to swallow it down before he leaned back and bursted into slightly louder laughter. “HAhahahahaha!” 

Seeing Frost actually go for the drink, almost made Gricko crack up with laughter. But thankfully, he was just barely able to keep himself together. 

“Holy shit!” Gideon reacted. 

Frost dropped his waterskin onto his lap as he clutched his stomach and kicked his feet a little bit. “Grihihicko whahahat ihihihis ihihihin thahahat?!” Frost asked. 

“What do you mean? It’s just water.” Gricko told him, before looking at Gideon and Kremy with a wink. 

“Ihihihi sahahaw thahahahat!” Frost shot back.  

“Yeah yeah, just focus on laughing.” Gricko muttered, waving off his statement. 

Kremy raised his eyebrows as he stifled a laugh. “Did…Did you…put something in his water?” 

“Maaaaybe?” Gricko admitted. “Okay…I may have filled the waterskin with giggle water instead of regular water…” Gricko admitted with a slightly evil giggle. 

Gideon blinked a couple times, before picking up Frost’s waterskin. “Wait, really?” Gideon tipping the waterskin upside down over his own mouth. After letting a few droplets fall into his own mouth, Gideon lowered the waterskin and tasted it. “Yehep, thahahat’s-” Gideon interrupted himself with a bellowy laugh of his own. “Thahat’s definitelyhy giggle wateheheher.” 

Kremy doubled over slightly with a wheeze. “Oh my god!” 

“I think that’s the best prank you’ve pulled in a while!” Gideon reacted as he turned to Frost and attempted to give the waterskin back to him. 

But almost immediately, Frost pushed the waterskin away. “Gehet that thing awahahahay from mehehehe!” Frost warned Gideon. “Ihihihi’ve hahahad enohohough!” 

Gideon raised an eyebrow. “Dihid you now?” He asked. 

“Yehehehes!” Frost replied. 

“Are ya worried you're gonna drink from it again if I give it back to you?” Gideon asked him. 

Frost let out a snort as he nodded his head. 

Gideon bursted out in genuine laughter that wasn’t affected by the fey magic. “Wahait, I wanna try somethin’:” Gideon put down the waterskin before lifting up his finger and bringing it closer and closer to Frost’s face. “Aaaaand-” The moment Gideon’s finger made contact with his nose, Gideon let out a little high-pitched “Boop!” sound. 

That boop, mixed with Gideon’s playful look, was all it took to break him down even more. “Whaha-?! HahaHAHAHA!” Frost exclaimed. The poor Tabaxi was so powerless against his own laughter, that he just threw his head back and erupted with cackles! “HAHAHAHAHA! COHOHOME OHOHON, THAT’S NOHOHOT FAHAIR!” Frost yelled at them. 

Gideon hung his head with a wheeze of his own. “Holy shit!” Gideon reacted. “Are you dyin’?! I can’t tell if he’s dyin’, or enjoying this!” 

Kremy’s jaw dropped with a big smile. “Whoa!” He laughed a bit. “That’s amazing!” 

“He looks so happy!” Gricko reacted. 

“I know, right?” Gideon turned to Frost. “Are you enjoying this, by any chance?” Gideon asked him next. 

“Ihihi dohohon’t knohohow!” Frost confessed. The poor guy couldn’t even think anymore, he was just laughing himself silly. 

Gideon, Kremy and Gricko all laughed a little bit in response. 

“Gohohods, thahahat wahahahahas soho stuhupihihihid!” Frost muttered, before covering his face with his hands. “I hahahate thahat I lahahaughed at thahahahat.” He muttered. 

“I’m quite surprised too. Why are you laughing? It makes no sense.” Kremy started to smirk as he remembered something his family would do to him. “Don’t you laugh, Frost.” He warned. “Don’t you dare do it.” he ordered with a smirk. 

“Krehehemy!” Frost pushed Kremy’s shoulder with slight annoyance. “Shuhut uhuhup.” 

The push barely even phased Kremy, who was still smirking and keeping up his silly gimmick. “I know you wanna laugh. I know it’s tempting. It’s just itching to get out there, and you wanna let it all out.” Kremy teased. “But whatever you do, don’t you laugh,  Frost. Dooon’t you laugh!” He teased Frost like a child who was refusing to smile. 

God, the contradictory words mixed with Kremy’s tone of voice and facial expression…it was all driving him insane! In any other moment, those words would be unamusing, almost considered threatening! But Kremy’s tone and playful look, made the moment just hysterical in the most childish way possible. 

He just couldn’t hold it in! Frost hugged his stomach as his laughter got louder and louder. “HahahaHAHAHA!” Frost kicked his feet once again, in an attempt to handle the new bouts of laughter. “KREHEHEHEMYHYHY!”  

“Wait, that’s actually working?!” Gideon asked. “What in the hell?!” 

“What did I just say?” Kremy asked, pointing to him. “Did I tell you to laugh?” He asked, the evil look still on his face. “I don’t think I did. So why are you laughing if I told you not to?” Kremy asked. 

Frost’s laughter was going higher-pitched. “STAHAHAP!” Frost yelled. 

“Stop what? I’m not doing anything, Frost.” He told him. “Meanwhile, you’re laughing like a goddamn hyena!” Kremy reacted. 

Gideon cracked up at that. “Dahamn, dude!” 

“SHUHUT UHUHUP!” He yelled, pushing Kremy’s face away this time. 

Kremy only broke for a single moment. “Hehehe-” Kremy cleared his throat. “Oh, I’ll shut up the moment you stop laughin’. How’s that sound?” Kremy asked with a smug-looking grin. 

Frost leaned back with a silent wheeze. “KREMY, PLEHEHEHEASE!” Frost yelled, almost sounding annoyed by the whole thing. He brought his knees up to his chest and hid his face in his knees. But no matter how much of his face was covered, the higher-pitched, surprisingly giddy laughter from Frost, could still clearly be heard. 

“Ya know, for a sorcerer, you’re not very good at following instructions.” Kremy added. “Fuck yohohohou!” Frost yelled back, making Kremy lose his composure and burst out in laughter of his own. 

Gideon snickered somewhat softly. “Shit, Kremy! I can’t believe he’s still goin’!” Gideon turned to Gricko. “How much giggle water did ya give him?!” He asked him. 

Gricko snickered. “Well I filled the whole skin with it.” Gricko pointed to Frost. “But telling by the fact that he’s still laughing, he must’ve drank a lot of it.” Gricko reacted. 

Frost could feel the laughter dying down slightly. “Ihihihit’s gehehetting behetter…” Frost admitted. “Slohowlyhyhyhy…” He mumbled next, lowering his knees down. 

“Okay, good.” Gideon replied. 

“You didn’t pass out, which is definitely a plus.” Kremy mentioned. 

Frost tried to clear his throat and calm himself down, but would occasionally burst out in smaller fits of childish giggles all over again. “Hehe…Hehehe…Hohoholy crahap…” Frost muttered. 

“We didn’t kill you, did we?” He asked next. 

“Myhyhy stohomach huhuhurts...” Frost admitted, holding his stomach. 

Gideon thought for a moment. “Eh…I’ll take that as a no.” 

“Are you gonna be okay?” Kremy asked him, patting his back. 

“Ihihi thihink…” Frost took in as long of a breath as he could, without making himself laugh or cough. “Thahahank gohohods…” Frost muttered. 

“There ya go…” Gideon said softly. 

Frost let out a couple coughs in between his giggles. “Sohohorry…” He muttered. “Wohohohow…Thahat’s sohome powerful stuhuhuff…” Frost admitted, adjusting himself in the seat. 

“I’ll say…I’ve never seen you laugh so hard!” Gideon reacted. 

“Ihit…” Frost giggled a little more. “Ihihi hahaven’t laughed like that in…” Frost let out a giggly sigh of relief. “Ihi don’t even remember.” He admitted. 

“Has Frost ever laughed that hard in front of you?” Gideon asked Gricko. 

“Golly…Not that I remember.” Gricko admitted. 

Kremy patted his back again. “How do you feel?” Kremy asked.

“Ihihihi…” Frost let out a breath. “Ihi feel good.” Frost admitted. “Really good, actually.” 

Gideon raised his eyebrows. “Yeah?” He looked at Kremy. “Your stomach doesn’t hurt?” Gideon asked. 

“It’s a little sore, but…I do believe that’s quite normal.” Frost replied. 

Kremy smiled a bit. “So, how’d you like the giggle water?” He asked. 

Frost looked down at his waterskin. “Right…” He cleared his throat. “Well…” Frost looked at the group. “It tastes good. I have never had sparkly water like that before.” He admitted. “And the uncontrollable need to laugh was almost quite…refreshing for me.” Frost admitted next. 

“So I guess that means Gricko gets off scott-free for that?” Kremy asked. 

“Oh no, not by a long shot.” Frost replied. 

Gricko’s smile was wiped right off his face. “Uhhh…Oh…” 

“While I’m on that topic-” Frost started to say. 

Sensing something coming, Gricko tried to escape as fast as possible. “Yikes! Look at the time-” 

Gideon grabbed Gricko by the collar. “You ain’t goin’ anywhere, ya little scamp.” Gideon warned. 

“What?! Let me go!” Gricko protested with slight anger in his voice. 

“Hand him over here, Gideon.” Frost ordered rather calmly. 

“Very well.” Gideon completely ignored all of Gricko’s protests and excuses, and immediately surrendered Gricko over to Frost. “There ya go.” 

Frost took Gricko in his hands. “Thank you, Gideon.” Frost turned his goblin friend around so Gricko was facing the others. “Since you started this war with a childish game aimed to make a fool of me, I shall administer my revenge in a similarly childish manner.” Frost wrapped both his arms around Frost, locking him in place on his lap before tickling Gricko’s sides. 

“Frosty-aAH! NonoNO- NAHAHAT THAHAT! AAAHAHAHA!” Gricko cackled. In a quick attempt to get out of Frost’s grip, Gricko doubled himself over and tried to wiggle his way out. “STOPIT! STAHAHAP!” 

“I don’t understand what you’re yelling so loudly for. You brought this upon yourself the moment you chose to fill my waterskin with giggle water.” Frost mentioned with a small smile. 

“HAHAHAHA- WOHOHORTH IHIHIT!” Gricko shouted back. 

Frost raised his eyebrows. “Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t quite hear that.” He placed a couple fingers against the middle of his belly, earning him a large squeak from Gricko. “What was that you said? Something about…‘worth it’?” 

Gideon looked at Frost and Gricko with surprise, before looking at Kremy. “Am I really seein’ this?” Gideon asked. 

Kremy nodded. “Yup…I’m seeing it too.” 

Gideon’s lips morphed into a crooked smile. “Huh…” He looked down for a moment and adjusted his legs. “I guess the surprises never end with these two.” He admitted. 

“HOOTSIHIHIE! HEHEHELP MEEEHEHEE!” Gricko yelled out. 

Frost looked at Hootsie. “Don’t worry, Hootsie. Uncle Frost is just getting revenge on your dad for his little prank.” Frost explained. 

Hootsie, eager to help her papa, walked up to Frost’s foot and sat herself down against it. 

Frost attempted to ignore it at first, focused on tickling Gricko for a little longer. “In a moment, Hootsie. I don’t think he’s learned his lesson quite yet.” Frost admitted. 

But Frost’s attention was taken off Gricko the moment he felt a kneading paw. “Hm?” He looked down at Hootsie, and was immediately taken aback. “What are you doing?” 

Noticing this change, Gricko looked over to Hootsie. “Ahahawww! Shehe’s gihiving you the puppy dog eyes!” He reacted. 

“Awww, that’s adorable.” Gideon reacted, looking at the puppy dog eyes himself. 

“That’s cute…” Kremy added. 

Frost stared at the little cub’s eyes, and slowly began to crack under pressure. “I don’t know what to do.” He tilted his head to the side slightly. “It’s really cute, and I don’t know how to react.” Frost admitted.

And to make matters even more cute…Hootsie had gotten up onto her hind legs and put her right paw against his leg. She was using the puppy eyes to convince him to stop, and the Tabai had to quietly admit…it was working well on him. 

“I-” Frost felt a smile grow onto his face as he stared into her unusually large owlbear eyes. “I can’t resist it…” Frost shook his head to stop the trance. “She’s too adorable.” 

Gideon and Kremy both burst out laughing at Frost’s words. They could not tell if Frost was playing just to make Hootsie happy, or if he was being completely serious. Frost’s go-to tone of voice was always monotone, which often made some of his jokes fall flat, while making some of his other jokes even more funny with their delivery alone. 

“Cahan you put me down, please?” Gricko asked. 

“Right! Yes, I’ll put you down.” Frost replied. He put Gricko down before giving Hootsie some much-deserved pets. “Not bad, Hootsie. You’ve certainly learned how to charm me.” Frost admitted. “Now:” Frost picked up his waterskin and took another drink from it. 

Kremy widened his eyes. “Wait Frost-” 

“Uh-” Gideon paused his words as he watched Frost spit out bits of his water. 

“Shihit-” Frost instinctively covered his mouth to stop the laughter. 

Gideon leaned back with a wheeze. “Dihid you forget what was in there?!” Gideon asked him. 

“Hehehe- Hehehahaha!” Frost hung his head and gently covered his mouth with the back of his paw. “Ihihi forgohohot thihis wasn’t wahateheher…” He admitted. 

“You gotta start spitting out drinks before you swallow.” Gideon told him. “How much did you swallow?!” He asked. 

Frost squeezed his eyes shut as laughter overtook him. “Toohoohoohoo muhuch…” He admitted with a snort. 

[Kremy, Gideon and Gricko are fixing up 7 cups of tea. While Kremy and Twig are adding sugar to their mugs, what is Gideon doing?” Nikkie asked. 

“Me and Gricko are giggling to each other as we stir Frost’s cup of tea. I really wanted to prank Frost…” Mace described. 

“And me, being in a mischievous mood…” Mikey starts. “I gave Gideon the catnip I have in my inventory, to add to the tea.” Mikey described.

 “Oh no…” Derek muttered, making everyone else laugh. 

“After stirring the tea, I hand Frost his cup of tea first.” Mace said.] 

“Your tea.” Gideon told him. 

“Thank you, Gideon.” Frost replied. 

Gricko handed Torbek his cup. “Here you go.” Gricko told him. 

“Thank you, Gricko.” Torbek replied. 

“No problemo!” Gricko responded, patting his back. 

Frost took a few sips of the peppermint tea, and smiled. “It tastes really good. Did Kremy make it?” Frost asked. 

“You bet I did.” Kremy replied, tipping his hat to the tabaxi. 

“Thank you. This is very enjoyable.” Frost told him. 

[Richie smiled brightly as Derek pretended to drink the cup. “Frost. You will notice as you drink this tea…that a heavy euphoric feeling is overtaking you. You feel…playful and excited.” Nikkie told him. “It’s a playfulness you rarely ever feel.”

Derek laughs a little bit as he begins to act the part. Derek imitates the cat-like licking of his lips while staring off into space with shock and awe. This face alone makes everyone burst out laughing.

“Oh no! The catnip is taking effect!” Mace reacted.

“Derek? Describe how Frost feels.” Nikkie asked. 

Derek smiles. “Frost feels amazing. I imagine it tastes super minty, and super earthy too. In Frost’s eyes, nothing ever beats a hot peppermint tea to calm you down in the evening. But the smell is intoxicating…Though Frost is used to feeling really happy when given tea, he finds he’s showing it a lot more than usual.” Derek explains. 

“Roll me a perception check at advantage, to find out if Frost notices the catnip smell.” Nikkie ordered. 

Derek rolled the dice. “18.”

Nikkie nodded. “Okay. So because Frost is a cat, he is able to notice there’s more than just peppermint in the tea. Though he wonders if his nose is tricking him, he disregards it.” Nikkie explained.] 

“This tea is really helping Torbek calm down.” Torbek admitted. 

“I agree. Kremy seems to have some sort of magical touch when it comes to making food and beverages.” Frost admitted. 

[Richie raises his eyebrows upon hearing this, visibly surprised by the compliments. “Wait, what?” Richie muttered in Kremy’s voice.] 

“A magical touch?” Torbek asked. 

“Yeah. I can’t really describe it very well, but I feel a sense of warmth and comfort. It feels like the world is slowing down for just this moment…” Frost admitted. “It feels…bewildering.” Frost admitted with a smile. 

“Mr. Frost?” Torbek called. “You’re using a lot of biiiiig wooords. Is Frost okay?” Torbek asked, looking up at the others. 

[“Torbek has no idea what catnip is, but he knows what being intoxicated looks like…so he senses something’s up.” Andy describes.] 

Frost started to stare forward. “‘Okay’ doesn’t even begin to describe my joy right now…” Frost started to drink his tea faster. 

[Kremy widens his eyes, and looks at his own tea.” Richie describes.] 

“Hey Gid?” Kremy turned to Gideon. 

“Yeah?” Gideon replied, sipping his drink. “What did you do?” 

Gideon chuckled evilly. “Nothing> Well, nothing to you.” He looked at Frost. “But Frost on the other hand…” 

Frost flicked his ears. “I heard my name?” He spoke up rather quickly. 

[“Frost has basically become Doug from Up. He’s just-” Derek imitates the quick look towards Mace. “Squirrel!” Derek said quickly.

Mace laughed. “My name is Doug! I have just met you! And I love you!” Mace imitated. Derek laughs at the reference.] 

Gideon chuckled a little bit. “How’s the tea?” He asked. 

“It was marvelous!” Frost reacted, visibly excited. 

[“Frost drops his empty mug in his excitement.” Derek explains.] 

“Uhhh…” Kremy narrowed his eyes slightly. “How do you feel?” Kremy asked. 

Frost had a big smile on his face. “I feel great! Words can’t even describe it!” Frost admitted. “I’ve never felt so overcome with this much euphoria before.” Frost reacted. “Or rather, not since the corn maze.” He admitted. 

[“Kremy’s getting quite worried by this point.” Richie explained.] 

“G-Gid?” Kremy looked to Gideon for clarification. “Please tell me what you did.” Kremy asked. 

[Mace laughed a bit. “I point to Gricko.” Mace pointed to Mikey. 

“I’m holding a cloth bag in my hand.” Mikey showed him.] 

“Catnip.” Gricko whispered. 

Kremy widened his eyes and looked at Frost. “Oh Gods…” Kremy muttered, covering his mouth. “How could you?! Do you even know what catnip does to cats?” Kremy asked. 

Gricko smirked. “Why don’t we ask him?” Gricko turned to Frost. “Hey Frosty?” Frost looked up at Gricko, tapping his paws. “Can you remind me what catnip does to cats?” Gricko asked. 

“I told you this before. How could you have forgotten already?” Frost leaned in slightly. “Catnip is meant to provide a feline with euphoric happiness before relaxing them. In simpler terms, it’s supposed to make a cat really, REALLY HAPPY! And then-” Frost’s words paused. “A-And then…” The tabaxi’s words slowly trailed off as he looked down at his tea. “Very very…s-sleepy…” Frost gulped, visibly fearful. 

[Derek continued to act out Frost’s actions. “Frost knows exactly what catnip is supposed to smell like, so he picks up the cup and sniffs the droplets of tea.” Derek described. 

Nikkie nods. “Right away, you feel a sense of euphoria and excitement fill your mind.” 

Derek continued. “My eyes begin to dilate more, and I realize what happened.” Derek explains.] 

“Kremy?” Frost lets out. 

[Derek reenacted a cat smacking its lips as best he could, and further sold the act by moving his tongue around a little bit.] 

Frost licked his paws and raised his head more. “Alright, who spiked my tea?” He ordered.

[“I start rubbing my face against the cup.” Derek described. “I assume that my ears get more sensitive, so you will all see my ears flicking and adjusting themselves.” Derek describes.] 

Frost looked up at Kremy. “Did you do this?” Frost asked. 

Kremy giggled brightly. “No, I didn’t. That was Gid and Gricko.” Kremy started giggling as he watched Frost rub the ground beside the cup with his face. “But holy shit, I wish I did!” Kremy laughed. 

[Mace, Andy, Mikie and Richie all start laughing as Derek tries to use his mug to imitate a cat shoving his snout into the cup. “My ears tip back.” Derek moved his hands back to show it, laughing silently as he tried to act it out. 

“Ihihi can see it so vividly!” Richie told him. 

“Ahare you trying to recreate the cat in the shoe?” Mikey asked.

Derek threw his head back with a wheeze, nodding his head as tears of mirth filled his eyes.] 

Gideon started to laugh excitedly. “Oh my god, this is awesome!” Gideon reacted. 

“I know, right!?” Gricko added. 

[“Frost’s head suddenly jumps up.” Derek looked at Gideon with excitement.] 

“You shouldn’t have done that, Gideon…” Frost warned. He let out an evil little laugh as he narrowed his eyes at him. “You should not have done that~” 

[“I immediately grow nervous.” Mikey described. “Gricko knows that face, and he KNOWS not to get involved.” Mikey explained.] 

“Uuuuh…” Gricko mumbled. 

Gideon rolled his eyes. “Oh please…What are you possibly gonna do?” Gideon asked. 

[Derek smiled. “My cat tail wags slightly…as I use my tabaxi-jump to tackle Gideon to the ground.” Derek told him.] 

“HOLY SHIT! FROST!” Gideon shouted. 

[“And I start tickling him vigorously.” Derek describes. “Ohoho NOHO!” Mace laughed.] 

“GAHAHAHAHA! YOU LITTLE SHIHIHIHIT!” Gideon shouted. 

“You shouldn’t have given me catnip, Gideon!” Frost declared. “You put this upon yourself!” 

“IHIHI’M GONNA KIHIHIHILL YOHOHOHOU!” Gideon shouted. 

“Though I know you are perfectly capable of killing…” Frost stops tickling for just a moment…only to start up again. “I don’t care!” Frost declared. 

[Derek bursted out laughing at his own joke, while the others laughed too.] 

“Revenge is mine!” Frost yelled happily. 

“Listen, I know tickling and revenge is fun, but…” Kremy spoke up. 

“KREHEMY RUHUHUHUN!” Gideon yelled. 

[“I look over at Kremy, and I tabaxi-jump at him.” Derek explained. 

“Oh shit!” Richie reacted, laughing.] 

“WAIT! FROST, NO!” Kremy yelled. 

“Your turn~” Frost teased rather masterfully, before tickling him next. 

“BAHAhahaha! Dohohon’t plehehehease! Whahahat’s gohohotten into yohohohou?!” Kremy asked.
