His leg dangled off the edge, kicking idly in the air while he seemed to be impatiently waiting for something or someone to arrive. The air was still, but he could tell that there was a storm approaching, and the smell of rain over the horizon was.. Refreshing to say the least. He hated being here. He’d never say it, but time spent around the little clinic usually meant things had gone wrong; someone was hurt. It wasn’t often that Warin made friendly visits just for the hell of it.. Especially with his brother’s philosophical bullshit.
That’s not to say he didn’t care. He did. There was not a moment in his life that Warin would ever hesitate to defend Rory’s life and offer up his own. He just happened to find Rory’s constant hopeful outlook to be annoying at best; perhaps he was too cynical. Either way, it didn’t really matter. He was waiting for a certain Shinra employee to make their exit so that he could berate them for their recklessness. Just because Warin’s heart belonged to that sometimes insufferable man, didn’t mean that he wouldn’t tear that man into pieces for making Warin’s blood pressure rise.
Busy thoughts are interrupted when arms are draped over Warin’s shoulders, and he can feel Randy’s face press up against his back like asking for forgiveness of some kind. As soon as Warin turns himself to face Randy, the man cups Warin’s face in his hands and kisses him, devouring all of Warin’s anger in a single, simple motion. To everyone else, Warin was a force to be reckoned with, but to Randy he was weak. His heart melted in his presence, and it was hard to really stay angry.. Especially when encapsulated in the other man’s arms, warmed by his lips.

He can’t help the small smile that tugged at his lips. He knows that Randy was headstrong in his job, just as Warin was the same in his own way, but.. One day, Randy was going to bite off more than he can chew, and for that there would be hell to pay. But until then, Warin would savor the times Randy is soft with him; a light in the dark.
