the world around her is engulfed in silence. proposals for the nation are strewn out across the desk before her; one could easily say that she had been quite busy after the paramount war. it was no small feat - restoring a neglected nation to its former glory. her cousin had made a mess of the whole thing, no matter; she could fix it. after all, it's why that pathetic excuse of a man was dead... she saw the sorry state of the people living here in breles and took matters into her own hands. supplies were a slippery thing to get a hold of, but they were managing; everyone was happier and seemed far more comfortable with their lives. it was amazing what a simple amount of effort could do for a place. it left her cross guild duties a bit on the back burner, but she had bigger responsibilities now.
fingers card through the parchment, weighing decisions in her mind, what could be ignored for now, and what should be prioritized? so many questions, not enough answers... at this current moment, there was nothing amiss to her, though; paloma could pick up on the slightest hint of movement, but paid it no heed.
a hand reaches for a glass of wine awaiting upon the desk, a finger dances around the rim of the glass, not yet picking it up. the door slamming open violently to her study nearly sent the glass sailing onto all this important paperwork of hers. it's swiftly slid aside to where it won't pose as much as a hazard to what she's working on. a member of her crew stands in the doorway catching his breath, so that's what she had heard; garter running in her direction.
" captain ! there's a world government vessel coming to port ! " the desk shakes with how quickly she's standing and throwing one of the drawers open to collect her spyglass. " are you certain ? i made it abundantly clear that they were unwelcome here, nor do the civilians want them here . " there was no doubting that she was a bit unnerved as she slips out onto the patio, peering through the lens... the familiar sails are not lost on her, they were also being flanked by several marine ships. it reminded her all too well of the circumstances that faced her when it came to her imprisonment in impel down. " what could they possibly want ? to check the state of our affairs ? " words are laced with malice as she sneers, making quick work to toss the spyglass back in the drawer and collect her overcoat, draping it over her shoulder.
with garter hot on her trail, the two head down to the port together. dark clouds gather, and the wind whips, telling the story of the storm that is brewing. the sea is a tempest, dark, angry, colliding with the harbor with a salty spray. even the sea doesn't want these guests of hers here, frankly; she couldn't agree more - especially as she joins the rest of her crew gathered there. " we kill them if they make any wrong moves . " the order is hissed out to the crowd standing among her as the ships draw near.
she stands back patiently when the ships finally arrive, and her crew aids in getting them ready so they can disembark. her focus remains solely on the world government ship, wondering what kind of horrors await her, what new form of torment. cipher pol, rob lucci, she'd recognize that dark hair, that build, everything down to the very fiber of his being, anywhere. why the hell was he here? she didn't have the slightest idea. it's as if they knew who her favorite toy was, however.
a grin pulls at her lips upon his approach, putting those sharp teeth of hers on display, though it's no secret that she has them. " rob lucci, i, welcome you, and the world government to breles . to what do i owe the pleasure of this visit ? "
