Well nugget, these months are flying by and with each that passes, you become even more fun. You are laughing all time time (particularly when Everly dances) and recently discovered how to grab your toes. You will log roll off any blanket we put you on and have started figuring out how to put your paci back in your mouth when it falls out. Your favorite noises to make are a fake cough, a raspberry sound with your tongue, and the funniest “goi goi goi” sound with your paci in. We’re still making our way through your sleep regression- you’re still waking twice a night to nurse, but you are now at least going down for naps and bedtime easily in your crib. You’ve become very interested in our dog Gibson and like to watch where ever he goes. Everyone says the same thing about you “that is chillest, happiest baby I’ve ever seen” and it’s so true. You are such a dream girl! #leonaruth

Leona Ruth turned four months old a solid two week ago and the month of May has been so crazy that I’m just now getting around to posting this. You are still the most delicious baby- just out of this world happy and snuggly. You’ve been rolling from back to belly for a few weeks now, so I’ve had to wean you from being swaddled and the sleep struggle has become REAL. You went from months of sleeping 12 hrs with one wake up to 2-3 wake ups a night. It was good while it lasted! You’ve started full body giggling and shoving everything in your mouth. I’m fairly certain you are now teething based on the amount of drool alone. You weigh 15 pounds now. I can’t find the sheet with your height 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I know you are still 95% and long as all get out. Your favorite things are: all teething toys, rocking on the front porch swing, flashing smiles at strangers. #leonaruth

We had the name Ruth picked out before anything else. Every Ruth I know is an incredible woman (from my great aunt Ruth, Ruth Bader Ginsberg and The biblical Ruth) The name means contentment and it was the one name we had solidified almost immediately after learning I was carrying a little girl. I heard the name Leona called out to a little girl at a cookout several years ago and the name stopped me in my tracks. I thought it was one of the prettiest names I’d ever heard. We tried out all sorts of lovely girl names to go with Ruth but just kept coming back to Leona. The nickname Leo solidified it for us. So her name means Lioness and Contentment. When I would be racked with worry over her during my pregnancy, Brent would send me a photo he found of this beautiful, stoic lioness as a reminder to find peace and faith that our little girl was growing strong and healthy. The content lioness. Peaceful mostly, but fierce when she needs to be. She was always meant to be our #LeonaRuth. 🦁

This angel babe is two months old. She is sleeping 6-7 hours at a time at night and is still super smiley and happy. We just transitioned her from the rock and play to a flat bottomed bassinet and she did awesome. Leona is rolling tummy to back consistently and can hold her head up for minutes at a time. She’s discovering her voice and likes to talk to us. She weighed in this week at 12 lbs, 9 oz and 24 inches long. That’s 4.5 lbs and three inches of growth since she was born! She’s got epic thigh rolls and the best double chin. We are all just so in love with her. #leonaruth
