THREE STAGES OF EVOLUTION
Name: Lenewcust
Age of origin: Modern Kaimera
FORM 1
Lenewcust was born looking like a cross between a nymph and a newt larva. She has both soft amphibious skin and harder insectoid exoskeleton, without any kind of order. She does have legs, grasshopper like back legs to be exact, but she also has a long tail. Her eyes are large and bulbous, with a head shaped more like her newt half, aside from the large eyes. Her skin and exoskeleton are green and brown, with flecks of orange.
FORM 2
Once moving on to her second stage, Lenewcust grows all around bigger and bulkier. Her tail loses it’s fin but becomes longer and sleeker, while her hind legs grow more muscular. A pair of forelimbs have sprouted, which are more like her newt half. Her eyes remain bulbous, but are in better proportion with the rest of her body. Her back has grown a pair of what can best be described as wings. These “wings” aren’t strong enouvh for flight, and aren’t made of the same material as insect wings. Instead they are made of flesh, more like the skin of her newt side.
FORM 3
By the end of her evolution, Lenewcust has undergone several more changes, noticeably her size, color, and skin. She has become more muscular, with her exoskeleton and skin fusing together to create something new. This now red substance is very tough, but is not so hard as to restrict movement. It has give if pressed against, and moves easily with her. In between her fore and hind legs two more pairs of legs have grown, smaller than the others. Her fleshy wings have grown stronger, along with a smaller pair directly behind those. A pair of mandibles has grown beside her mouth.
Abilities:
Flight-Only Form 3 has strong enough wings to fly.
Aquatic-All three forms are capable swimmers.
Poisonous-Lenewcust is poisonous, carried over from her newt half.
Extreme Strength-Form 3 possesses strength unmatched by many kaiju, due to the development of her muscle.
Exoskeleton-The strange exoskeleton Lenewcust has is extremely resilient to harm, especially from attacks that slash or pierce.
Weakness: Lenewcust is a surprisingly fast, strong, and versatile kaiju, but only when she reaches her third form. The first is not suited to fighting at all, and her second is merely okay in most categories. If she does manage to reach her third form, not many kaiju can best her.
Backstory: Many animals are infected by Kaijiation, but not all survive long enough to become kaiju. Others are infected by Kaijiation from other animals, creating Kaimera. Yet even this Kaimera is an oddity
A grasshopper became infected by Kaijiation, but instead of becoming a kaiju itself it was eaten by another animal, an unknown species of newt. The newt was close to giving birth already, and the bizarre circumstances led the parent to lay a single egg instead of the usual amount.
From this egg came Lenewcust, the first ever Kaimera to be born naturally. Similar to Draximus, this led the at first normal sized infant to grow very fast, eating much more than usual for kaiju to help her body grow. She grew and changed, merging her two halves more and more as she did. Her final form is a force to be reckoned with, and due to her size she preys exclusively on one thing, other kaiju.
How they Interact with Other Kaiju: Lenewcust is not overly hostile to other kaiju when she’s not hungry, and even when she is there is nothing malicious about her actions, she’s just hungry. When well fed she is happy to be around other kaiju, but they aren’t really enthusiastic to be around her.
I thought a lot about mixing the two sides together more and more as she evolved, culminating in the final form, which i hope is a fairly even mix. The idea came by mixing two real world animals that had three stage lifecycles of their own and seeing how strange they could get. There are plenty I probably could have gone with, but these two worked out well.
