i will say teen wolf because they did that show dirty after the third season

zoeys extraordinary playlist or one day at a time

3. have you ever quit a show before it finished? why?

i got tired of the storyline or characters making dumb decisions

4. Favourite historical era?

I feel like there are two ways of enjoying an era - One is what I’ve decided to devote my life to, the other is what I use to take a break from the other one.

It isn’t exactly new knowledge that I’m a medievalist, my general focus, though Celticists tend to have a very broad range, is Ireland in either the 9th or 16th centuries. (Though the 12th is also very, very interesting.) I don’t generally focus on the HISTORY of these eras, though I do try to keep it in mind because it does affect the literature, which IS my focus. 

BUT. At the same time....look, sometimes, a bitch needs a break. Because it IS my life, and I treat it very much like a job (albeit one I adore), sometimes, I need a break from it. Like, to understand: On Wednesdays, like today, I am up at 4:30 AM to go to my classes, either because I woke up or, more likely, I stayed up all night. I will stay up until 10 AM my time. I do it as a labor of love and respect for my department, so I don’t complain, but it DOES get exhausting. Sometimes, if I see one more copula, it’s very possible I’ll go into a ríastrad myself. 

And that’s when the French Revolution welcomes me with open arms. I’m not an expert in the Frev, my French is mediocre at best, and, honestly, I don’t want MORE than I really have already, because it’s fun to dick around there for a little while and then go back to parsing out Old Irish. It doesn’t expect anything from me, there’s so much material on it I can’t really be expected to learn it all, so I just dip my toe in it for a little while, wade in the kiddy pool while the Frev historians are trying to drown one another in the deep end, and then I get out and go back into the deep end of my own pool. 

5. Favourite weapon?

The gladius. Along with my dirk, I actually have a training gladius in my room, just to pick it up and handle it. 

9. Favourite historical film?

Are we talking about “Genuinely good” or are we talking about “Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it?” (Also eliminating my musicals entirely.) 

For “Enjoyed every minute of it”, it’s got to be either The Fighting Prince of Donegal or Brennus: Enemy of Rome. These are NOT good films. I want to emphasize that. Brennus’ dub in particular is held together with shoestrings alone. But my GOD there’s something wonderful about a film that begins with Brennus shouting “KILL THE ROMANS ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH”. And, to this day, they’re really some of the only films we HAVE on their respective eras: Brennus is a footnote in history, and 16th century Ireland, if it’s mentioned, is generally only featured in Elizabeth I’s biopics where we get to see the Dirty, Uncouth Rebels.

18 - constellation?

So I actually have a tattoo of three constellations on my shoulder (Orion, Cassiopeia, and The Big Dipper), but out of the three, my fave is probs the Big Dipper.

21 - ending in fictional media?

I love the ending for Sense8.  It’s not perfect but I’m just so glad that we got a conclusion! Slight spoilers ahead.  The wedding, the different families meeting each other, and of course, the final orgy lol.  It was a good tying up of all the plots, even if I’ll always want more because I loved the show so much!

this one is hard bc i don’t actually ship a lot of things that aren’t already canon or that i wouldn’t want to be canon...i’m not as big on shipping as other people are i guess? but i guess i’ll say queliot (even tho the show is over) bc they already did them dirty in canon so they don’t get to have them anymore

11) First app you check when you wake up? shifts between instagram, tumblr, and discord. also sometimes i click into one of my games (township and evermerge are big rn) first, especially if there’s a short term challenge going on that i want to finish 

32) Last thing you bought that was so bad that it was good hmmm this isn’t so bad but I bought a pack of pre-made cookie dough (pillsbury cook or eat raw chocolate chip!) and realized that you can MICROWAVE cookie dough for 30 seconds and it makes a really nice, soft and chewy cookie??? It’s PERFECT??? so only a little bad but EXTREME good!!
