ive never seen so much beatles stuff nor did I realize there was this much beatles stuff please tell me everything about the beatles you would tell to someone who knows nothing about them (which is me)
Oh God. You truly don't actually know how much of a loaded question this is.
The thing about the Beatles is that they are the most famous music artist in history. Sort of end of story. But they also only existed for ten years. During those ten years they were CONSTANTLY working (especially in the early days), touring, late nights, interviews, drinking, partying etc. Being the most famous people on the planet. But they were also quite literally four lads from working class homes in an industrial, war torn city (literally would play football in a bombsite).
The Beatles are also the origin of so many aspects of modern day music and pop culture. They are the reason artists make music videos. They did the first ever stadium concert. They invented the first ever heavy metal song. Essentially every band after 1970 was inspired in some way by them. Modern fan culture!
And you think, The Beatles must be so pompous. So proud and smug, walking around with arrogance, but they just aren't. Even at the absolute height of their popularity they were always incredibly humble and good humoured.
Also their lore is just insane. Every day I research The Beatles and learn more facts that, to anyone else, would be considered the craziest thing that ever happened to them. And for the Beatles its just a funny anecdote. Getting death threats from the KKK, getting literally chased out of the Philippines after the entire country threatened them, having their first ever drug experience with Bob Dylan giving them a joint, Michael Jackson buying out all the rights to the Beatles discography from under Paul's nose.
Their story is genuinely so interesting and really really worth a look into. There are some really excellent videos on youtube that talk about Beatles history and I highly recommend Lindsay Ellis' video about Yoko Ono and the Beatles!
