The Good Doctor and His Shadow- Chapter 1: A Doctor meets His Shadow
(The fic where Kuras becomes ur dad. jk. He adopts a child smuggler. No wait, the child smuggles items, not other children.)
Dark, stuffy, and muggy as it was, a beacon of light drifted from street to alley and occasionally over and through buildings.
Kid didn’t get how anyone could miss it.
People either look past it or notice then get distracted, completely losing interest.
Kid never did though. Never could.
Even when the sun was out, that light was brighter than it.
It hurt their eyes at first, but after a while it just left them mildly itchy.
But Kid wasn’t one to ‘lock-a-gifted-goat-in-the-moth’ whatever that meant.
A big candle that kept bad monsters and bad people away at night was a good thing.
Kid had had made a point to follow the tall walking lamp for a few months now to get to their job and back for that exact reason.
But tonight was probably the last.
They had to start looking for a new gig.
At least the sky was clear.
They could enjoy the way home accompanied by moonlight.
