HKAM Day 15- Relic Seeker
What's the bug version of anthropology? Arthropology?
I don't usually do this sort of thing, but oh my god. PAON's debut EP (?!) is something I am absolutely obsessed with.
My first exposure to avant-garde jazz, and it feels like a fantastical space journey to a vibrant, psychedelic, and glossy world beyond ours? With an absolutely immaculate album cover art by REX (@_rexpo on instagram btw - I've attached his art to this post)? With the maximalism and aesthetic extravagence of an project EMBODYING the essence of a male peacock? APPLYING high-art philosophical concepts into their music? I am stunned. Never knew about Lemme or Pernelle (the collaborators for PAON - composition and vocals respectively), but this project of theirs is fantastic. Truly, I am so so so zoned in. Words fail me with how much I LOVE this project. I left a long youtube comment that I don't really want to repeat here word-for-word, but just... listen. If you're into jazz-fusion music that reminds of you of Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, and Persona soundtracks - or just really enjoy avant-garde jazz - give this a try. The composition is gorgeous. If you don't wanna click the link, it's called Philosophie du Soi by PAON.
(if you didn't read by post, the art is by @_rexpo on instagram)
It's been only a month and a half since the last time I posted a Lemm song here, and I like to space things out a bit rather than post music from the same five people every week forever, but he just released his first album in like seven years, so I kinda have to.
French vocalist Pernelle and he have started a new project called PAON which makes what they're calling "space jazz," which is like Lemm's usual subtly proggy electronic orchestral hybrid music but even more chaotic in both composition and genre mashups. Their first album is called Philosophie du Soi and here's the first track, "Métamorphose."

Downpour.
Extremely cool duderino Lemm wrote an official demo song for the Synthesizer V 2 update of the Chifuyu Hanakuma voice that just came out recently, which seems like it's his favorite SynthV voice because that's the only one he uses. The song's called "Chronoër∆" and it kicks ass muchly
