There’s something about a cool, rainy day that brings the wolf in me out to howl. It’s a full body aching, a stretching and pulling beneath the surface of my skin. I feel a longing for the forest and plains that should be my home as the four walls around me start to shrink into a cage. I want desperately to feel the wind in my fur as I race through the undergrowth following a promising scent, hoping to find the end of the trail before the water washes it away; I can picture it so clearly. This animal trapped inside me wants out. Now.
