Okay so. Luke is living on Mandalore to help rebuild, and eventually build his school there too. But this gay has NO IDEA about mando culture, and the purge makes any information hard to access. So Luke goes on the 'I will learn from interacting and observing', because he is very busy helping rebuild and there's so much to do.
But. A big thing, especially with some of the more traditional coverts and clans, is that tactileness is pretty much exclusively reserved for clan/family ...and courting. Not to mention the connotations of sparing outside of structured training.
Luke knows none of this. And is, as per usual, completely unaware how how much mando bait he is.
Hes a very tactile and open guy. (As well as a little bit of a flirt....but there are so many attractive men being attractive; showing their strength, being sweet with foundlings and talking softly, and hesitantly, of a brighter future. What is a simple guy to do!)
He'll touch hold people's arms and shoulders. He'll fully lean against someone when he laughs while they're sitting together on a building break. And sometimes, with those who don't wear helmets he'll ruffle their hair. Not to mention batting his pretty blue eyes and long lashes at them (he's only human).
And most mando killing of all he'll challenge people too and offer to spar with people. (He wants to improve his hand to hand combat after a few uncomfortable force cuff encounters).
The Mandolorians who are exposed to Luke are suffering. Din most of all.
Luke continues having the time of his life flirting up a storm and helping a civilisation and teaching force sensitive children.
Then Leia, the diplomatically functional twin, visits. Within the hour she has grabbed Luke by the scruff of his tunic and dragged him away from his fawing troop of mandolorians.
"You, are going to cause a diplomatic incident!" (The you whore is unspoken, but it's there).
Luke is confused, and his chest hurts from Leia poking him violently.
She then gives him the run down, and he realises he's basically been courting every mandolorian ...maybe is engaged to some??? He also realises that Din has no idea he is genuinely interested in him. He probably thinks he's just like the others.
Cue Leia, Cara, and (a very jealous) Han 'who is this buff woman making heart eyes at my wife' Solo helping Luke try and properly court Din without him thinking its not deliberate.
Obviously everything goes wrong and derails into pure chaos; but, Luke and Din confess their feelings and get married.
The day after is an unoffical and secret day of mourning in the mando community. Even if they do have the most perfect consort as a leader.
