I'm on week 4 of the new routine and today I hit a personal best on free weight squats and leg press. Have also added 5lbs to my regular pre-contest weight and estimating .5in to my quads. Here's the routine: 1) Free weight squats - 5 sets - 20,10,8,6,6 2) Leg press - 5 sets - 20,10,8,6,6 (drop set to starting weight after last set) 3) Walking lunges - 2 passes 4) Leg extension - 3 sets - 10, 8, 6 5) Straight leg deadlift - 4 sets - 10,8,8,6 6) Seated leg curl - 4 sets - 12,10,8,8 7) Lying leg curls - 3 sets - 10,10,10 8) Seated Calf Raise - 20, 10, 10, 8 9) Standing Calf raise - 20, 10, 10, 8 Yes, I know it's a big workout, but it is definitely working. I usually split train quads and hams, but today I did the whole workout in one shot. Usually takes about 2 hours, but sometimes longer if I really go heavy like today. I also used the new Inzer knee wraps on the heavy sets. The quality of the material is comfortable and very steady. It's going to take a little getting used to, but I liked the added support. I was wondering how most people wrap their knees when using these (i.e. Open patella, full wrap, tight/loose) ??Please comment if you have an effective practice for this.
