Some Wallace AU kids I did on my friend Discord because I have no self control.

Speio (Cynthia/Wallace) - A brooder and thinker. Spends a lot of her time with herself. Maybe a Water type trainer? She's named after the Nereid Spio/Speio.

George (Lance/Wallace) - Stern and strict and values strength. Deep down, however, he has conflicting cultural identity issues, being both a part of Clan Ryūjin and a Sootopolitan. Named after the legend Saint George and the Dragon.

cynthia and steven get along well. while steven's interest in history is of a far more distant past than cynthia's preference, he enjoys listening to people be passionate about their jobs and hobbies and vice versa. they're still something of work friends however, only getting in touch when they're forced together or need help from the other.

cynthia and wallace however, speak much more frequently, something that very much surprised both. cynthia had assumed from wallace's celebrity persona that he was a stuck up hack. wallace assumed from cynthia's fan created persona that she was a dour asshole. both were surprised to find the other was a lot more personable in private and the personas were just that--fake.

they were also pretty shocked to find out they have a lot in common. both grew up in places steeped in history and myth under the guidance of family who knew those myths like the back of their hands. they were thrilled to meet someone who understood what it was like and had similar passions.

they talk mainly about sinnohan and hoennian history and myths. it's not unusual for one to send a pdf of an academic article and then rant about how stupid the author's theory is. wallace also tends to be cynthias sounding board when she's writing her own papers (as the guardian of sootopolis, wallace is too busy and too oath-bound to write his own) since he's much better than she is at making things sound nice and elegant.
