Dear Vector Prime, What exactly was the Shroud?
Dear Multiversally Minded,
What the people of Axiom Nexus refer to as the "Shroud” is merely the thickening of the barriers between universes. It has always existed, its impermeability varying from point to point, time to time. My brother's thickening of the walls helped protect dimensions, but it could never truly separate them. The denizens of what I believe you know of as the "Legends world" have proven particularly tenacious at finding passage through the barriers.
While the denizens of Axiom Nexus liked to imagine their universe was special—in that respect, they are no different to the inhabitants of those universes they observe (I can't tell you how many individuals claim to have invented the multiverse!)—The Realm of the Primes is closer to our father, Primus. As such, in spite of the shroud, I find myself recalling events which happened in other worlds, other lifetimes.
