‘Cut From The Factory Floor’ by Iain Kettles installed at Claythorn Park
Last week, the final permanent artwork commissioned as part of PULSE was installed onsite at Claythorn Park.
To celebrate the legacy of the XX Commonwealth Games beyond 2014 and rich industrial legacy of the area, two permanent artworks have been sited along London Road. They are ‘Cut From The Factory Floor’ by Iain Kettles and ‘Slow Down’ by Jacqueline Donachie.
Fabricated in Corten steel, ‘Cut From The Factory Floor’ references the patterns widely used in the former Templeton Carpet Factory. The luxury carpets made in the East End of Glasgow from 1856-1950s were shipped all around the world and can be found in prestigious homes in Australia, and the Caribbean.
On Thursday 23rd April 2015 Pidgin Perfect invites colleagues, friends and local communities to join us for an official opening of the temporary and permanent artworks commissioned as part of PULSE.
There will be a day-time opening at 1pm and another at 5.30pm, both featuring Artist Talks and a specially curated tour of the PULSE permanent artworks. If you would like to attend please RSVP to [email protected] for the afternoon and vtalk230415.eventbrite.co.uk for the evening.
