PULSE Official Opening 2015
On Thursday 23rd April 2015 Pidgin Perfect invites colleagues, friends and local communities to join us for an official opening of the temporary and permanent artworks commissioned as part of PULSE.
To celebrate the legacy of the XX Commonwealth Games beyond 2014 and rich industrial legacy of the area, two permanent artworks have been sited along London Road. They are ‘Slow Down’ by Jacqueline Donachie and ‘Cut From The Factory Floor’ by Iain Kettles.
There will be a day-time opening at 1pm and another at 5.30pm, both featuring Artist Talks and a specially curated tour of the PULSE permanent artworks. If you would like to attend please RSVP to [email protected] for the afternoon and vtalk230415.eventbrite.co.uk for the evening.
This week, the final permanent artwork as part of PULSE,’Cut From the Factory Floor’ by Iain Kettles, will be installed at Claythorn Park, London Road.
Fabricated in Corten steel, ‘Cut From The Factory Floor’ references the patterns widely used in the former Templeton Carpet Factory. The luxury carpets made in the East End of Glasgow from 1856-1950s were shipped all around the world and can be found in prestigious homes in Australia, and the Caribbean.
Keep your eyes peeled for more updates and photos of the final installation!
