Oliver finds out quickly that May 4th is a National Holiday to Felicity. It is the day she rewatches the Original Trilogy every year. (When he asks what Original Trilogy she means, she glares at him, and does not take no for an answer when he says he is too busy to watch Star Wars that day).
In later years, all of Team Arrow will join them, to the point where it is a movie that everyone can quote at any point, and is their own private equivalent of The Princess Bride.
When Jonathan turns nine, this has been a part of his life the entire time has been alive. It is why he is very, incredibly, out of this world excited when he is told that yes, he can have the Star Wars party he has been wanting since he was five by a slightly sighing Felicity.
(Oliver might have also been the one pushing for this for a while. Ever since that first marathon he had wanted a valid reason to swing a lightsaber around, and Jonathan is a perfect excuse)
When they kids all show up, Jonathan is dressed in itty-bitty Jedi Robes, and the rest of them all have some sort of Star Wars themed costume going on. Oliver is also dressed in Robes. ("Felicity, they're all padawans! They'll need someone from the council to watch them!" He also spent almost three weeks picking out the perfect pieces from online to make his custom saber. And one for Roy. He has PLANS). Abby is too little to really join in, but Felicity has her in what looks like an Ewok onesie. There is podracing (watching children run full tilt while trying to hold their decorated box up around them has all of the adults in stitches), Pin the Ears on Jar Jar,
Thea has decorated her wheelchair to look like a TIE fighter, with herself as the pilot. Roy has shown up dressed as Sith Lord Harper. During cake, Oliver and Roy both use their sword fighting skills to hold a truly epic lightsaber duel. It almost ends with Jedi Oliver's defeat before all of the padawans rush in with Jonathan and take Roy down, climbing over one another in the process.
Even now, it's one of Jon's favorite memories.
When May 4th comes along when he and Tish are together, she asked him if they were going out to dinner that night. (It was a Friday and term had finished for it. A tradition of dinner at this point).
"I can't," Jon told her. "There's...there's a family thing."
"Oh."
"You can come too. I mean, there's more than enough room, and enough people."
"I don't want to interrupt any family event that is..." Tish starts
"It's Star Wars Day."
"It's what?"
"Star Wars Day. May the Fourth be with you? Mom puts the movies on and we marathon them. They actually aren't that bad, being from the 1970s."
And that is how Tish winds up on the couch between Jon and Abby as they do the voices of Yoda together.
