Thing About: Framer Refuted
Okay so this is now off a history lesson than any sort of analysis (this really isn't want I intended this blog to be but oh well?). Anyway! This song is based off a numerous essay exchange between Hamilton and "a Winchester Framer", where the name of the song came from because that was the pseudynom Samuel Seaburry used, everyone knew it was him but he never admitted it. That's where the song gets its name. But my favorite part is everyone thought John Jay was the author of the responses, not Hamilton, who was just a college student who was also writing under a pseudonym and shouldn't of had the time to write the lengthy replies. Anyway, Hamilton's response essays were some in lots of places, including the soon to be General Henry Knox. I don't know if it was ever found out but I imagine that was an awkward conversation to have if it was.
George Wahingdad: Of course my so-, excuse me, right hand man wrote that! He did an amazing job too, Seaburry actually did stop responding.
P.S. speaking of that, Seaburry was a, considerably older than Hamilton, Pastor who also, much like Charles Lee by John Laurens, got absolutely dragged by an angry 20 something year old in the name if the revolution.
