“4 Held In Robbery Of Leaside Bank,” Ottawa Citizen. May 1, 1940. Page 04. --- Canadian Press --- TORONTO, May 1. - Three young men and a woman have been arrested on charges arising out of the robbery of the suburban Leaside branch of the Canadian Bank of Commerce on Monday. Those arrested are Marjory Constable, 27, charged with receiving stolen goods; James Hogarth, 28; Robert Orr, 23; and Robert George Harrison, 19, charged with armed robbery. Hogarth was arrested a few hours after the robbery, but police kept secret his arrest until today when they arrested Orr and Harrison. Police said they have recovered some of the stolen money. They said they have obtained statements from Orr and Harrison in connection with the case. In the robbery Monday, three men carrying revolvers kidnapped, slugged and bound a taxi driver before entering the bank. They obtained about $1,500 and fled under fire from the teller. Sidney A. Purdy, taxi driver, said three men kidnapped him and used his taxi to drive to the bank, and left him bound and bleeding in the back seat while they staged a fast hold-up. Later the men abandoned the taxi. Purdy was found, still bound, in the car.

This rascal of an opossum (note the spray can) can be found in the Leaside neighborhood of Toronto. Opossum have moved north into southern Ontario and even downtown Toronto in the last 50 years-they are not native here.  Last year  I even saw one sitting on a fence near a major intersection in the downtown core.
