I’ve been through phases of making collages at several points over the last decade or so, but even when I’m not making them I retain the habit of collecting images from the books I find interesting. When me and @leahcrews moved into a new place last April (the first we’ve lived in with no housemates) we decided to distract ourselves from lockdown and make a thing together to nestle amidst a collection of artwork gifted by friends and colleagues over the years. The theme is not specific, the title is non-existent but we spent many enjoyable hours working out the nuances of this thing. We rummaged through the folders of photocopied treasures, cut up and compiled, removed, reordered and rejigged. Moving forward a year to now, almost no one has seen it aside from us but it is time for a replacement. Maybe I’ll show you the new one when its complete or maybe when its had a year to settle. 70 x 70 cm approx, collage on board, framed If you’d like to buy this work you are welcome to it, 20% of the sale price will go to charity so make us a generous offer! - - - - - - - #collage #collab #leahcrews #tomjohnsonart #photocopy #birds #mammals #plants #fish #tadpoles #thingstolivewith #thingsonthewalls #science #heraldry #bones #oldmasters #illustrations #stamps #plants (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPzwnkZFHDf/?utm_medium=tumblr
