thank you :D i put up a reblog with all of it so i'll just copypaste it here: - the turtle represents longevity, protection and wisdom, telling us how long lesbians have been fighting and making themselves heard, especially for queer people who were silenced; - sea green symbolizes stability, calm and serenity; - argent (silver) represents honour and virtuosity; - the copper in the helmet and trims invoke the goddess Aphrodite, and is in itself a durable metal which lasts for hundreds of years, representing vitaliity; - the seashell is there to represent eternity, and its life of resiliance against the waves that push it around; - the arrow announces readiness for battle, and when two are crossed, they represent peace, friendship and alliance;
Cette enluminure de la Renaissance représente Bertrand du Guesclin, noble breton et connétable de France pendant la guerre de Cent Ans. Ce portrait en pied est issu du manuscrit portugais du XVIe siècle appelé le Livro do Armeiro-mor (1509), réalisé par l'héraldiste João do Cró.
Dans cet armorial, Bertrand du Guesclin est célébré en tant que Dixième Preux. Cette distinction unique l'ajoute à la liste traditionnelle des Neuf Preux, les héros historiques et mythologiques considérés au Moyen Âge comme l'incarnation idéale de la chevalerie.
Bien que ses armoiries familiales personnelles comportent historiquement une aigle bicéphale noire sur fond d'argent, il est représenté ici vêtu d'un somptueux surcot d'azur semé de fleurs de lys d'or. Ce vêtement hautement symbolique souligne ses fonctions militaires suprêmes et sa loyauté envers la couronne de France sous le règne du roi Charles V.
