WYNWOOD
by Fumero and Leaf
Evolving from bubble figures to cartoons, graffiti, logo design, and then figure abstracts, it was at SVA in New York that Fumero says those influence finally met up and formed a harmonious interaction of line, shape, and color. With a bold and uninhibited style that matches his character Fumero had already been a four-time participant in Art Basel in Wynwood when he and Leaf teamed up on this 2014 wall (now gone) on NW 5 Ave at 26th St. With Fumero painting the figure in the unmistakable style he labels "grafstract," North Carolina artist Leaf added his distinctive "leafmech" design on the left. "Bio-mechanical art was invented by HR Geiger and perfected for tattooing by Guy Atchison" says Leaf, adding that those influences helped shape his own "grafstact" form of leaf-mech. @fumeroism @bryanleafstacy
