Their Relationship:

He and the MC are in different points of their lives. He has tasted the height of his career, while she is still working through the everyday grind hoping someone will finally see her efforts. With a solid dose of Voltage MC naivete, she continues to work herself to the bone waiting for her big break only to have her boss crush her dreams on a whim. At her lowest he is there to pick her up and acknowledge her work. That’s really all she wanted.

He on the other hand has seen the lengths to which people will go for their own selfish goals. He after all had been collateral damage to someone else’s ambitions. As he tries to find his passion again, her morality and dogged perseverance helps him believe in humanity again. He had been so let down by himself and others, and she helps him find a way to be happy with himself and his dreams again.

Given that neither of them are good at communicating in the way the other understands, they still have far to go as a couple, but they give you hope. Together they are relatable in their passions, disappointments, and happiness.

My recommendation:

I have so many good things to say about His Main Story and His POV. Both are definitely worth buying at full price. They read as two halves of one complete story. There is so much of his story that isn’t seen by the MC, and therefore not by us. His POV allows us to see the depth of his existential crisis. I really found it relatable given that there are times in our lives where the rug is pulled cleanly out from under us, and we struggle to rebuild some semblance of self. The soundtrack highlighted the struggles and uplifting moments in his route. The feeling of home is really pushed in this concept, and it’s executed very well. As usual the MC does have some of the classic Voltage MC issues, which makes her annoying at times, but together they fumble and cobble together a true slice of life.

His Romantic Stroll route ended up being a let down given how strong the first two stories were. It was an extension of their struggle to understand one another, but it felt more like an exercise in frustration. It is a story that can wait for a sale.
